    No range units, mages are very expensive, blood economy requires lots of micro, strong early but can’t expand v fast because you need to build forts to negate heat pop attrition. Very strong infantry, but can’t buff it, and limited lava borns from capital. Also they walk very slow in that armor

    This video has made me regret my pretender design in a MA Abysia game im playing rn. Its only turn 5 but I had to rush to make my pretender and its abit memey. I do think that H3 D3 is fine tho, I am unconvinced that the Death scales and H4 in summer are that bad but I also always struggle with income in aby games so gonna try smth diff in my next one.@olk8379

    Ahh yeah Im playing an ea Abby game right now before I did the research and I wish I could change too. But it's definitely not the end of the world incomes just always a struggle

    Hey there, great work with the videos. Truly helpful for a newbie like me! Couple of questions: 1. Why not take Heat3 and Death3 as scales? 2. Are there any alternatives to Heroism as a bless that'd boost the mages more?

    1) Heat three becomes Heat 4 is summer and heat 4 pop kills your unforted provinces alot. The other reasons is being one off your ideal heat scale is pretty "free" in terms points because the penalty is not that bad -4% income for a quarter of a year compared to ideal temp. As for why not death 3 death 3 is super viable on abyssia I just prefer to run a slightly more scales oriented build with abyssia but nothing wrong with going death three on Abyssia as alot of your provinces will still grow by 0.1% even with death 3. 2)Farcaster, revig, Precision, resists, pen or even reanimators are great for mages. With farcaster and revig and heroism being the best overall. For MA Abyssias mages people often bring fire resits to fights with you limiting your sacred mages usefuleness. Thus heroism which gives your mages more research, a bit of revig and also makes your sacreds more efficient is big value. If you just want to have fun with evos though or are playing vs ai I'd reccomend facaster and revigoration (revig you can take up to 5 times)

    No mention of summon spectral infantry which got buffed to summon 7 ethereal magic dmg+armor piercing troops with map move 20. If you are taking a rainbow pretender like that I think they're pretty good. Get them at conj2.

    I used them for their magic weapons but it feels bad to use too many pretender turns for them as they're 0 prot. But they're really nice to have as an option and when you need the magic weapons they're amazing. It feels bad you don't get the paths natively

    Yeah you're right these and fire eles are very bad because of spiritform. At least these only at conj 2.

    Nest of Salamanders aren't great at holding the line even with each cast summoning 10+ as they only have 2 hp and 10 defense (which is only 1 square of salamanders as they are size 1 and you can fit 10 size in a single square) However they can have some use in supporting your infantry as 3 infantry fills 9/10 size allowing you to fit 1 salamander in the same tile as they are size 1 which does help harass down the enemy defense and dealing some damage when they get lucky and get through protection and apply their 25 heat poison damage. Though yeah I don't think they are very useful most of the time... maybe against something with high defense and with enough fire resistance that fire elementals won't work they might be slightly useful? (though I do think their heat poison might be reduced by fire resistance which isn't great)

    Counterpoint, whoever is in front of that square is gonna have to attack a minimum of 10 times to get past those snakes. So Assuming normal enemy density, that's 3 turns you buy minimum off of whoever ends up in front of the snake square. If you are facing Giants, it could be 10 or more. So while it really doesn't spread out enough to replace an army of troops, it can definitely add to the tar pit if that's what you are going for.

    @@sgtflintlock6904 Well yes but the thing is that instead of summoning Salamanders you could instead summon a Fire Elemental which is usually better with it having a lot of hp and ethereal of course it is also better at killing the enemy which stops them from dealing damage Of course yes if there are giants with magic weapons (the most extreme case) then yes nest of salamanders will likely be way better at distracting them

    Ele's have low defense and low prot a giant needs to hit an ele 3 times to kill it. With hitting only 1/4 of the time that's 12 times. They'll miss about half the time vs snakes so that's 20 times plus the poison of snakes is great vs large hp units

    @@topguides6991 Yeah though the poison does require dealing damage which with 3-6 AP damage (6 damage in heat 3 up to 8 damage in heat 5) it isn't that likely to get through protection. I do wonder if the HEAT poison is reduced by fire resistance?

    Fire elementals have been really really bad for me so far in Dominions 6. Awful. Damage carries over between their forms now so scales troops will simply beat them down. Fire Drakes have been more useful since they aoe nuke stuff from out of melee range, shooting through your troops. Conj 5 feels like a trap.
