Imagine a game where the player makes a good list of the shittist pretenders possible (hellblesses on scales nations, everyone has at least 2 death except high popkill nations, awake immobiles etc) and the player gets one too The entire game would just be a bunch of hobos slapping eachother to death because everybody has no income

Lucid has never done a reverse recruit game. He did a game where everyone picked the most OP units and played against each other, but never the reverse where everyone picks the worst units and commanders for each others nations.

You might be interested in watching GeneralConfusion's series "Dominions Nostars" which is very close to what you describe.

You can also add research targets and favorite rituals and items to the AI template. (see Modding Manual p57)

Truly meant as a compliment. Discussing Dominions with Lucid. Facts...tangent... interesting idea comes to mind about a previous interesting idea... second tangent that is still somewhat related to the first tangent... mechanics of learning how to code on a commodore 64... tangent number three... facts about the idea that was first brought up after Lucid ran a series of conclusive tests in his mind while simultaneously discussing with you a fourth tangent... only to end the discussion with now having discovered that cows could become lactose intolerant due to some book binders mistakenly using carbon fiber threads instead of silk threads that are hand-spun by some dude named Steve.

Sounds like a really neat project! I will say that if aimed at single player usage, you might want to consider more how the AI will use a certain build, than whether it's a build that would be used in MP. I'm not familiar enough with the Dom6 AI yet to say with certainty, obviously. But for example it may well be the case that even if a nation has massable sacreds and you give them a heavy bless, the AI won't recruit more of them with 10 candles than with 6. Hopefully we'll get further tools to aim the AI in such ways (eg a #maxunitrec [id] command), or maybe the AI is that much smarter now that it's unnecessary.

This video taught me that I want to watch Lucid just design pretenders as a whole video

...I ran a Death Explosion + Charge Body build on a cyclops with Sauromatia in Dom 5. Even made a KZread series (in Japanese) for it. The ghost fireworks were glorious.

I made immersive world map once and played with premade pretenders and had to pick the pretenders in hotseat mode in Dom5 then surrender and AI would continue play as that player, this feature is welcome addition.

I also advise to use this staff with #ainorec command. If we want some units to be recruited with one build and others with the other, then we'll probably need a tool that would generate mod for each party. That tool should select AI pretenders randomly from calculated variants and then also disable useless troops for selected pretender variant.

I dont have my computer atm but am 97℅ sure it's been ported. Not sure if fully ported for e.g. changes in steed mechanics etc, but the mod should still work regardless.

best water crosspath is surely nature, literally just because of mossbody?

Yeah maybe! It did get nerfed in dom6 though, it breaks easier now on SC type units where it gets checked all the time.

@@ItWasSaucerShaped Its still a good spell and is just as effective on normal troops. I think the change was that before you had to go over mossbody damage threshold to break it. Now you either do that or theres a 1% chance that any shot hitting it will break it. So still good. But its unlikely to hold up for 30+ rounds on a SC. It was a little overtuned in dom5 so i approve. But i feel you, i dont like strong shit getting nerfed.

Do they have a similiar mod for dom 5 ?

Nope it requires modding capabilities only added in dom6.

I am not sure we'll get much with existing generall AI stupidity. At least AI should bless it's soldiers more relibly.

I protest this. After 6 iterations Illwinter needs to invest some of the profits into the game and stop depending on the community to do their work for free. Randomized pretenders are just another example of Illwinter producing a half finished game. Lucid or you going to work for free for 20 years like the worthy hero people?
