The chariot commander's pull, I think, is the map move (20 vs 24). If I'm paying 120 gold for a military commander, I'll generally be willing to spend 20 extra to make sure he can always go where I want him to, provided I have fast enough troops.

That does make sense, I would have to go check all the troop speeds again to see if your major armies can make use of the extra commander move speed.

Ah makes sense, it did seem a little out of place.

41:00 The orc factions include size 1 goblins. To be fair, their main use is as patrollers or stealthy raiders, though. You'd have to get lucky to catch them with elven chariots, I think. Edit: 51:00 Given there are 4 human Chaos factions that'll use demons, 3 undead factions, the ogres and Chaos Dwarves should have some also, the Sisters are not an unreasonable pick as sacred troops. Precision is good for your mages as well. All in all, loved the guide. Thanks guys..

Glad you liked it! I went on to play a single warhammer game and the High Elves had a great showing.

I think a few of the units can only be recruited on coasts (sea mage maybe or balista guys)? The balista guys are quite good in my experience in WH with the high prot enemies. The 3x undead of the archers and others is quite good, and the phoenix unique magic spell has doesn't effect friendlies which is really good for that close cloud stuff as your hold the line guys or guys that have bows and spears can stay close to the mages but then not be impacted by that spell. But overall I've found this nation difficult to keep up with the stronger WH nations.

What do you think the strong WH nations are? I have only glanced at most of them, but the High Elf magic seems really strong.

Take the fabled Precision Bless. Your mages will do absolutely horrendous things, and the Sisters of Avelorn won't be sad either.

I do love a good precision bless, but I think what seemed most natural to me was an imprisoned monolith with reinvig, finesse, and PR (and some HP). You could definitely play around and find something better, that was just my first look at it.

@@thefalsegod8809 Oh yeah, a classic mage bless is probably best, but precision on a mage bless isn't exactly that wierd either. If you're doing a lowish dom imprisoned, it'd cost you a couple scales but shouldn't be that bad. I honestly don't rate PR as highly as many do. It's useful, sure, but I think it's very highly overrated. You do get access to a Serpent's Blessing caster, even if not cheaply. There's a window of vulnerability, sure, but one that can probably be closed through other means. HP would be very useful, though. Honestly going N4B4 for just HP would hardly be the worst idea on this nation.

I think you would love all the HP you could get, maybe you can lower some scales to afford some additional bless options but the nation seems extremely gold hungry. I think PR might be contingent on which other nations are in the game, and how likely they are to be able to cast FV. I did take precision in my Phaeacia game, but it's one of those blesses that's hard to really notice (not that it isn't doing something), it just can be difficult to see the impact sometimes.

@@thefalsegod8809 It definitely is more difficult to see, but I think it has extreme potential on this nation. Your units already have very high precision, and stacking an extra 2-4 precision could make nearly every evocation hit. When you're doing that, you're getting a ton more value out of evocations and the Sisters. And so even a bog standard mage can be expected to get a reasonable amount of kills in a fight just casting regular-ish evocations. I've had very good success doing something similar with Na'Ba. It's always something to be considering when you've got evo paths and sacred mages.

That Lion Chariot doesn't have trample? Looks like an anti elite unit which is good because the warhammer universe has so many large and scary monsters. You could point buff it too, and probably have that guy raid.

Yea I missed that, I just saw chariot and assumed trampler. I would have to go and look again at how it compares to a square of the lion warriors.

Some of mages should have 2 random extra magic levels like priest of vaul, high mage of hoeth.

Probably, but not for a little while. Arpatheus and I are recording the game I am hosting and doing commentary on which is soaking up most of our time for doing this sort of recording. On the bright side we both managed to join a Warhammer game so I will be putting up my Itza perspective starting relatively soon, and we'll probably do a Vamperia overview (which is what he's playing) at some point in the future.
