Crazy to think that when he fought Jones, Jones was the older vet & he was the young hungry lion. Gave Jones his toughest fight, arguably won. Jones still on top while Reyes is fighting to stay relevant/on the roster

But if this is to be a new lineage Jon has to fight Tom to unify the belts because right now both have interim belts. Once they face the winner will be the new legitimate champ unless Ngannou chooses to challenge the winner and claim himself the true legitimate champ as he is the lineal champ. I’m looking at it like if they were kings idk if I’m making sense

You can’t be the goat when you’ve A) failed multiple PED tests B) failed multiple drug tests C) had as many legal issues as he has with no real punishment D) gotten fights rigged for you like his with Reyes E) fought dirty kicking people in the knees and poking people in the eyes even admitted by Rampage DC and Masvidal Jon is definitely one of the most talented ever but he should’ve been out of the UFC a long time ago

No it would have a better effect on his legacy because on paper Pereira accomplished more so it looks better 5 years from now , he’s a double champ in very short time and has defended his undisputed Light Heavyweight champ. For Jones to beat Aspinall definitely adds to his legacy as well, it still would enhance his legacy in the eyes of people of today since it would make him look like he slayed another giant, but in 5 to 10 years it would look good but not as great as beating Pereira due to what Pereira already accomplished.
