I haven’t been using enough oil so it wasn’t coming out beautifully golden brown like yours, but now I know. Thank you so much!

I, unfortunately, cannot get my queso tropical here in Washington State. But, I found out that I can use Mexican queso called Panela to do the same thing. When I fly out back home to NYC I stock up, bring some with me and have to explain to the TSA why I have frying cheese and salchichon.

My hubby is Greek, and he introduced me to saganaki, which is a Greek fried cheese that looks very much like this. It's great with some lemon squeezed over the top. I'm going to try to find this cheese you used to do a comparison.

I watched your other video first that was in Spanish thank you so much for all so posting it in English. Can anybody tell me what type of sauce would be good for this cheese?

Just watched Lidias kitchen on PBS and then again on you tube. She made frico: potatoes, eggs, and cheese, Italian. The cheese she used Asiago. She fries precooked potatoe slices, grates about 2 cups on a box grater removes potatoes and put half of the Asiago straight in that nonstick skillet (one of the reasons I came to you tube you can use cast iron, doesn't need to be nonstick) puts fried potatoes on top of Asiago 😋 adds eggs other half of Asiago. When bottom of frico slides around in skillet She inverts on a plate and cooks the bottom side I'm like never heard of Asiago. My phone has, I type asi and up pops Asiago 😄 now I see 2 more kinds of cheeses I can fry. Actually 3 as last night I roasted asparagus with Romano cheese omg so good and the Romano that dripped on bottom of pan was like chips, Romano cheese chip 😋 . Thank you, you answered my question along with your commenters. Ha ha ha 😂 chow Italiano and my nationality is a league of nations 😁👍lol

Tan Rico!!😊😋You know what do with the queso de freir too. Yo ablando platanos maduros. Then I mash the maduro into a circular patti. I put the queso in the center, then I fold it like an enpanada and I put to fry. Omg! It's so good with Arroz blanco and habichuelas. I fry the cheese before I put it the maduros sometimes. Try it! Para ver si te gusta 😊

Hello Chef Zee! I want to start off by saying I love your channel! I am a transplant to West Virginia from Brooklyn, NY and have a hard time finding some of the traditional ingredients we use as Latinos here in WV. Do you have any sites you can recommend so that I can order the Tropical Queso de Freir and Salami? (I tried Amazon, and the manufacturer sites for the items) If not, no problem. It won't stop me from enjoying your channel! Suerte y exito en todo Sis!

Does anyone know the history of queso de freir ? The cheese (Tropical brand) is identical in taste and texture to a Scandinavian cheese commonly called "bread cheese" in English.

@@ivanvargas7859 , Thanks. Thats interesting. I wondered because Spain has so very many distinct varieties of cheese, but it seems none similar to "queso de frier". Surprisingly most of the chesses in Latin America taste very much like queso de freir but with different textures and melting points.

You said it was important to fry it in corn starch or flour but you didn’t show it in the actual video
@el-Cu9432
Жыл бұрын
Using flour or corn starch depends on the cheese you are using.. She used queso de freir which holds it's shape when fried. If you use different type of cheese, like for instance queso blanco which looks the same, you will need to flour it first or else you are going to have a melted cheese patty.
I didn't see you put cornstarch or flour?! Did you forget? What happened? 🤷🏻♀️
@kamoree7784

You only use it for cheese that’s not made for frying specially or cheese that’s not hard and soft like hers
I wish you would tear it apart so we can see inside. I wish you would try or cut into every thing you make so we can see what it should be like and if you tasted it for us you could describe the taste and show it too. Please consider doing this in future videos

I had that brand a few times and others as well. It's horrible! Salty no flavor and process tasting. Its on the same rank as American cheese for me. I did find a brand that's amazing from a farm called Vaca Negra. Not salty, creamy, organic, earthly, nutty and everything done by hand. They have it under Queso fresco buts it's the same cheese.

So I have a 🙋♀️ question!! Yes pick me 🙋♀️🙋♀️!! Lol such a clown!! But anyways my question to you is why did you not use flour to or corn flour to fry the cheese? I’ve noticed cheese fries so much better with flour? My mom does not use it either and I was wondering if that’s because it is optional!!
