I had the privilege to work as the official videographer for the Dominican Cup 2024 CMAS Freediving competition - the first freediving competition for the locals!
It took place at the beautiful Soufriere Bay on 24-25 February. We had a total of 9 athletes, all first time competing and some are very new to freediving.
I also did 40m CWTB as opener dives for both days, after which I dived with each athlete and filmed their dives all the way down to their announced depth and up.
It was a great couple of days, and we had 13 white cards (successful and qualified dives) from nine athletes in total! We also had four brand new CMAS National Records with three record holders from this event:
Female Constant Weight Bi-fins (CWTB): Kimberly Williams 23m
Male Constant Weight Bi-fins (CWTB): Antonio Lester Guye 28m
Female Free Immersion (FIM): Kimberly Williams 20m
Male Free Immersion (FIM): Dan Kerry Alleyne 32m
It was a fantastic event with awesome vibes! Great job and congratulations to everyone who helped organise it, to sponsors and those that donated to the prizes, and to all the athletes who showed up with courage and strength!
