You missed head tossing, tail swishing. The more subtle signs.

I get the whole hierarchy thing, but how come u didn’t have a bowl set out for horse #4 tho, or was it just to help show people how the pecking order works?

My horse is new to the herd. We have tried to slowly introduce him to the herd. They seem to establish hierarchy, but a day or two later the lowest horse ends up bit and appears would be from my horse since this never happened until my horse was brought into the herd. Another new horse is being introduced and she will be the lowest on the hierarchy and didn’t move when my horse tried to push her and he bit her. My horse doesn’t kick. Only goes after with mouth wide open. If they don’t move, he will do damage and cause vet visits for stitches. Any suggestions to understand what is going on with them. My horse appears lonely and won’t eat hay when he is alone. It is just weird because they get along and then don’t, but the damage is expensive and painful for the horse getting bit.

I know a few comic artists who could take a few tips from this. 👍

ARab horses and TB are naturally the most aggressive. The issue is they are build weak. They will get clobbered by warm bloods and bigger stronger horses.

When I was younger I always thought our horses where assholes for switching bowls like that.

The second most dominant horse is the most aggressive and is the one to watch out for. THis horse will kill dogs and coyotes that enter their field. They will also bully other horses.

Horse #1 is a "he", by the way. Not a "she".
