Overflow rules kicked in. Somebody had a clue. So, on the subject of clues, the Village Board wants the meeting held at the larger space they have for meetings. Here is the problem, CONTROL. Many of the people that come to meeting, get a little out of control. In the smaller space it is less difficult to control the people. Here is a clue for you to solve. Why does Mayor Henyard have bodyguards? Because people hate her and want to hurt her. Holding the meeting in the larger space increases the threat to Mayor Henyard. My opinion is, she would rather not have an army of cops in the meeting, proving the citizens of Dolton hate her, in front of the media, but that is what she will have to do if the meetings are switched to the larger space. Do you think it was OK to walk out? You posit the meeting was illegal, was that their reason? Well, the media was there why not express that? Because that wasn't their reason, see they’re not that bright. They filed a Writ if Mandamus and the court sent it back, telling they have to include the person in charge of finances. These yo-yo's didn't even know there was a city finance manager! They burning with so much hate for Henyard, they can't think straight, so although your excuse might cover them, I doubt that was the reason they walked out. Mayor Henyard called it political theatre, and that is just what it was.

She needs to be locked up and throw away the key. She is shamelessly corrupt.

It's actually an estimated budget deficit of at least $7 million!

@sunnyday3327 they've tried. The town voted to recall her last June but she took it to court and was ruled the votes could be counted but not certified. Blah blah a legal battle went on. She is a nightmare. She is not outsmarting anyone. She's violating human rights and these poor people are fighting for their town. The people and trustees made a mistake voting her in but she's taken it to an inhumane level. She really got most of her power as township supervisor due to the previous person passing away and some idiot trustees nominating her at the last minute before it went to a public election. So sad. Jerks like the other person commenting above will just call them stupid but that person is just as bad as the corrupt leaders in Dolton. These people need help not hate.

@@mjh8492 Well said! I understand. I’ve been following this story and I did notice halfway through this process, the residents were a bit passive & they let Tiffany talk down to them. I know they’re speaking up more now, and they’re finding their voice, but they have to do more, I don’t know what that means, but they have to keep pushing forward until she’s removed somehow, she’s ruining their town. Can the residents sign a petition and do an emergency recall and vote in someone new? Various officials in bigger towns have been removed for not doing their jobs, I hope the residents find a way to remove her. I feel like they need someone to help them. I feel for the residents.

She vetoed a proposal to Investigate her. The Trustees SAID they were going to Overturn the Veto at the next meeting. But they DIDN’T. They walked out! They DIDN’T EVRN TRY to Overturn her veto. Didn’t even try. I don’t believe for one minute, they left because people were not able to get in the room. Which was more important? Getting an investigation started, or letting more people in???

Henyard apparently spent over $7,000 taxpayer dollars on hair and nail treatments over a two month treatment. The owner of the salon who did it was listed as Henyard's "assistant" on the documentation of the payment. She makes almost $300k per year between her two political positions, and she uses tax dollars for her personal care. The Village pays for 24 hour police coverage for her security detail. The police budget has increased over a million dollars over the past year...much of which was due to overtime being paid to officers working her security detail. The officers even went on multiple village trips with her around the country as her security detail. These officers have no jurisdiction in those locations whatsoever, yet the taxpayers paid for their trips too. It's all a scam being played on the residents of Dolton and Thornton Township.

She is the mayor of Dolton, and the township supervisor for Thornton Township. It is the township position that pays over 200k per year. The mayor position in Dolton pays 40k per year. It was the township position in which she had an ordinance created that dropped the pay to 25k after a new election if she was not reelected. Also it wasn't a staffer who was alleged to have committed a sexual assault, it was one of the Village Trustees in Dolton while on a village trip.

This is a story about the Section 8 program. Chicago has what's called a "Black Belt." When Blacks began to migrate to Chicago, Daley Sr. erected high rise housing projects to capture Blacks (as made famous by the 70's sitcom Goodtimes). They couldn't live anywhere in the city, only certain areas. Fast forward to the 20th century, 4-5 generations of Blacks have been raised in these squalorous, dilapidated developments. Gas prices went way up. Whites in the suburbs began to push their way back into the cities. Gentrification of Black neighborhoods begins, starting with the high rise projects that were located on prime land, some developments like Cabrini Green, was spread across 40 acres. Daley Jr oversaw a massive razing of housing projects on the South and West sides, which they would rename South and West Loop. The former tenants of these developments, who lived in squalor for 4 generations, were given Section 8 vouchers to relocate. Remember Chicago and it surrounding suburbs had a Black Belt where Black could live in certain areas. These areas were prominent, working, middle-class areas made up of homeowners. The Mortgage Crisis hit, leaving a lot of Black homes vacant due to foreclosure. Outside corporate agencies brought up these distressed properties and began to rent them at inflated prices to holders of government Section 8 vouchers, moving impoverished renters next to middle class homeowners. The result was the destruction of middle class, Black communities and schools throughout the Black Belt, Tiffany Henyard, and her voting base.

@danabrams She was appointed as the supervisor of Thorton Township when the previous Supervisor passed away. She inherited his salary of approximately $245k and makes about $64k as the Mayor of The Village of Dolton. That why she calls herself the " Super Mayor". She had the board of Thorton Twp vote on a change for the future salary for the next elected Supervisor from $54K to $25k, but if she is re-elected, she will retain her current inherited salary. She also had Thorton Township donate $10k of taxpayer money to the Tiffany Cares foundation and used about $17k of taxpayer dollars to buy hoodies, t-shirts that she gave away and sold for donations towards that charity. That charity is under investigation.

Aw the police she back pocketed and paid overtime to stopped the meeting oh how sweet.

That was just an excuse. The Trustees had said, that at the next meeting, they were going to Overturn her Veto for an Investigation. Well that time came and did they do it? No. I don’t think they will EVER overturn that veto. This is all just a show. She is being ALLOWED to spend tax money, not pay vendors for services provided, fire people for no reason and whatever else she wants to do! Time came for the Trustees to do what they said, and they just copped out! They are actually going try to do anything to stop her. News Nationshould have done a deeper dive into the story. You didn’t even scratch the surface of this mayor’s unethical behaviors. She is using the police as her personal bodyguards and paying them exorbitant amounts of overtime. There are also reports of people who no longer support her receiving business violations, and in one instance, she temporally closed one of her opponents businesses. She is all about retribution. Because her ego is so big. She is spending lavishly the taxpayers dollars on any number of items. She is self-absorbed and has no clue about governance. She is only a wannabe celebrity. You could also see how imbalanced our media is for instance, look at George Santos, some of the crazy things he did, and wall to wall media coverage to place pressure on him to resign. She’s right up there, sadly our media wants to ignore this blatant corruption that’s been going on for quite some time.

It just amazes me that democrats elect officials based on their race and sex, not their qualifications or experience, yet when something like this happens they're upset. Last year my Mother Cheryl Hill made a post about Tiffany! August 31st. She spoke out against her! Sep, 1st 2023. Henyard had Dolton Police come to my home and arrest my mother!!! With no paperwork or any warrant! They lied and said she threatened the mayor. My mom spent. 21 hours detained. 4 of the hours were spent in the hospital. Also the police department lied about her being taken to the hospital. I have the conversation recorded. I have all angles of the police coming to our home. Since September of last year. My mother has been restricted from every meeting and public event BECAUSE OF THE MAYOR. We been to court about this. The false charge was actually disorderly conduct. And got dismissed ! They still restrict my mother and violate her rights. Most recent was us being kicked out of Dolton Easter Egg event this past Sat!
