We did this yesterday at the same park and it wasn't anything like this. This is the poolside 'dolphin encounter' right? In our case they combined groups into one mob of 15 and there was no intimate little 'thing' like this with just us and the trainer/dolphin. Everyone had to jockey for a crowded spot at the wall and not everyone got to touch the dolphin or even interact directly at all. It was no different from the free 'dolphin connection' thing they did a few times a day until recently. You had a lovely private experience - did you pay extra for that? What we got wasn't remotely worth the 70 bucks we paid per head.

Yes, I endorse animals "being there". I endorse the killing and/or exploitation of other species of living things for our own nourishment, scientific and medical testing, ....and entertainment (and pets for companionship). Any THINKING person understands from late childhood on that LIFE REQUIRES THE TAKING OF (other species of) LIFE. Humans are not exempt from this basic law of living nature. The underlying premise of the vicious ideology of environmentalism (and "animal liberation") is that somehow humans are NOT a part of the natural order (but, rather some kind of interloper) and are UNIQUELY forbidden from taking decisions to further the lives of their own species (if it comes at a cost to other species). It is an anti-human ideology; there is no love in this allegedly "animal loving" ideology. ...In regard to THIS form of entertainment (by SeaWorld), this is hardly some blood sport like bullfighting, cockfighting, dog fighting, or even hunting; the very profitability of THIS form of entertainment is tied to persuading paying visitors that the animals are being cared for and are generally happy. The PROOF that this was basically true was made when Keiko, the Free Willy orca, was acquired and trained for years to swim off into the sunset (to join a pod of wild members of his own species), ...and.... instead chose to swim back to humanity (at a fishing village in Norway). And, Keiko was NOT a SeaWorld orca, but rather the property of a much less well-off park in Mexico City (in a much smaller tanks, alone with only two dolphins as his companions -- other than obviously the humans). Indeed, Keiko only swam away from his activist-handlers in Iceland when they adopted a policy of extreme estrangement (refusing to look at him feed him, etc.). ...Why would a cetacean go back to his torturers? I suppose THAT is the reason Keiko has generally been forgotten by the Blackfish koolaid drinkers. ...He was big news when this liberation project seemed to show promise -- but quickly forgotten, even before his death, when he CHOSE MAN in his state of freedom. His story did not fit the agenda, I suppose.
