The Santner Pass in the Rosengarten is a classic in the Dolomites, but the via ferrata is more characterized by climbing in the I to II level than by classic wire ropes, which then only follow in the last section just before the Santner Pass Hut.
The start is immediately behind the Kölner Hut, first it ascends up to a plateau with many scrambling spots, then the access path to the roped part follows, also with smaller climbing units again and again.
From the Santnerpass hut it goes past the imposing Vajolet towers to the Gartl hut and then again partially secured (no via ferrata) down to the Vajolet hut. From here on path 541, initially gently uphill, then steeply uphill to the Tschager Joch (Pas da le Coronele) and from here steeply down again in well-maintained serpentines back to the gondola station.
