Dolly Parton is the brightest star and the greatest American of the past century. The amount of money she has put into her charity work is staggering yet she neither expects nor generates publicity for it. She is adored here in Ireland. The world needs more people with the character, beauty and humility of Dolly Parton. I love her so much.

That is so cool you had that sweet lady babysit you. I agree Stella is a beautiful lady. I saw her in 7 Brides for 7 Brothers. She was so cute in that movie. Those 60s hair styles though, I am glad those are gone. My mom's older sisters had similar styles and their senior pictures are at my grandma's house. I remember looking at those pictures as a kid and wondering if who were those to women with the strange hair. I was born in 72 and I don't remember it anyone with hair like that. I had some strange hair in the 80s though. Thank you for sharing.

It is rehearsed of course, but I understand what the OP means. It's casual, no super perfected moves, the sisters are a bit stiff with their body language. You can tell Dolly is the pro, because she's relaxed. I think that's what they meant. Of course, practicing without all eyes on you is different. They had perfected this song that's clear, but probably not in front of large crowds and tv cameras. I mean- I knew Dolly would sing with her family, but until now I didn't know they'd join her on stage. According to the comments, I'm not the only one.

Dolly is the real thing. Unlike a lot of southern Christian women she walks the the walk with grace, dignity and generosity to all. Her humility and humor could be a lesson to us all. It is often during our darkest hours that her light shines brightest. I will never forget the fact that amidst the initial horrors of Covid and the shock of 45, she stood like a beacon of hope 🗽 for ALL America standing up for what was correct (notice I wouldn't use Right due to it's toxic political non Christian implications) and put her money where her mouth is. She is of no "feeble mind" for sure. I thank her for helping others move beyond theirs. ✌️

My brother went up to the stage & bought her album. Dolly sang so many of her famous songs at that time..."Love Is Like A Butterfly" & "I Will Always Love You". We couldn't believe we were actually seeing her for real & not on TV. ...We saw the 3 Parton sisters perform on the show back then. I haven't seen this since the 4 of us were sitting in the living room way back then. I saw Stella Parton in “Pump Boys & Dinettes” in 1986 at the legendary Stage West in Calgary. I’ve remembered this ever since because of the energy and absolutely top-notch singing and dancing of Ms Parton and her cast. I remember what a welcome distraction this performance was for me especially given that I was working minimum 14-hour days in an office all that summer. This show is one of my favourite life memories. Thank you for putting everything into those performances, Ms Parton. Much appreciated. All the best to you. I hope you are well.

I was in school in Galveston and Stella performed the Dolly part with a touring company for “The Best Little Whorehouse.” She was wonderful but got a case of the giggles when she got to the part about the sheriff taking her to Galveston and looking out over the blue, blue waters of the Gulf. Well, we all know the waters there are anything but blue and we all chuckled we started her off. She was delightful.
