It's actually an old video, but I'm glad she's re-releasing it. She did this song over 20 years ago, and some of the young bluegrass musicians you see here, including the girl playing the violin (Sara Watkins) and the guy playing the mandolin (Chris Thile) are members of Nickel Creek

This is from the album _Little Sparrow_ , released 4 years before KZread existed. Dolly won a Grammy in 2001 for the vocals on this cover. Not sure when the video was recorded, but I do not think it was recently. But I'm glad she's putting the video on the platform now.

There’s something about Dolly asking for Heaven to let its light shine down that hits different than the original. Especially these days. Love ya Dolly!

I'm approaching 70 years old, my kids are all grown up now, where did the time go.

❤❤❤ Have to say that this is one of my favourite renditions of Shine ever…including the original! The musicians were phenomenal too! Dolly….A lady who is not scared of crossing genres, a lady who still has an absolutely amazing voice! A legend that is just getting better as she ages! 😘😘 Dolly has never hidden the fact that she is a big believer in the Lord and in her faith, and her music just brings that home. I’m not a believer in God, the Lord or any sort of religion, far from it in fact as my brain is too damned analytical, but I do respect those who have their religious beliefs and I will never, ever disregard talent or anyone on what they believe. My Dad was a very religious, full on believer, who lived his last 20 years in faith and passed last year with a smile on his face as though he was being welcomed into his Lords embrace with his last word and breath being “Jesus”, and although I still don’t really believe, that experience has opened my mind to think that anything is possible. On the other hand, my hind brain and my remembrance of my childhood version of Dad is saying….well…that last “Jesus” could have just been an exclamation that Dad wasn’t where he thought he’d be, despite his final smile! 😅

I identify. I want to believe but my brain is also getting in the way. One night, over a decade ago, I was stood at my window at 2am trying to see the predicted Leonid meteor shower. Nothing, zilch. I said, "if there is a God, send me sign. Let a single meteor shoot between those two trees". A bright meteor blazed right in the centre, between those two trees. Me: there was supposed to be a meteor shower tonight...coincidence. I suppose that's the point where faith should take over. I also have experience of a horrible person getting all religious once she sniffed the end coming. Think that's pretty common. A "just in case" insurance policy.

Blessings for the lives of all those who love JESUS!! Adored my blessed CHRIST--I pray for my health...and the peace of the world! amen amen amen!!
