Moving from NJ to VT, August 16, 1977, with my late husband and best friend, and the help and moral support of two good friends. Long drive, big change, new life. Heard on the radio that Elvis had died. And heard lots of “Here You Come Again”, which I loved instantly, and has always meant for me “the past is past and done; the future is ahead and who knows what it holds?” Still love the song, and Dolly, who truly is in a class by herself.

Long Live Dolly Parton the Queen 👑 of Country, she is true royalt. Love 💕 Dolly!! Here You Come Again was recorded June, 1977 and released on September 26,1977 and I was 7 years ago in 1977. I was in love with Dolly Parton at 5 or 7, I still love her. This song reminds of my relationship with my ex Lisa, and pulls on my heart strings. I am such fool for that red heads devil!!

This is such a perfectly written pop gem. The syncopated piano bass over the straight 4 right hand is perfect. But Dolly's voice (an insanely beautiful mixture of heartbreak, vulnerability and hope) is what makes this song so heartwrenching and completely pushes it over the top. This was originally released on a BJ Thomas record. Not even close. So glad the producer Gary Klein heard it and knew she had her remake it. She completely nailed it.

Even if you know nothing about music theory, you should be able to hear the key changes in the song. You feel the effect of building and releasing tension musically. That's why - the key changes. The emotional effect precedes understanding the theory. It's a brilliant song, the way Dolly sang through those changes, and explains why it sound so good, even beyond the production values of its day.

Yeah the 70s influence on all genres was definitely omnipresent. Listen to some of those chord inversions! In a country song! Though I guess this was more country-pop than strict pop, much like Glenn Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy. Modulations, great string arrangement, man I miss the 70s...

@@jho2255 Actually the rising key changes are a long-utilized means to bring an almost imperceptible rise in energy and “interest to the ear” at least until the dawn of pop music. The Beatles did it for one. There is nothing pretentious about contributing a truthful, educational aspect of any art form. Your calling this out in your tone of condescension was anything but genuine, so I think you managed to take a glib, gratuitous troll quip into definitive evidence of one of two scenarios: one, you are an officious ass and pretentious yourself, or two, you’re so profoundly musically inept that when someone speaks with intelligence about music you cower in the corner and gnash your teeth at their superiority to you. Either way, you’re a drag. Sit down.

For those older folks (I’m 57) we had the privilege of growing up when the lyrics of songs were simple and understandable. I was in the UK (now US) and living just seemed easier with no mass shootings every month, no cell phones and no internet. Sure, we had problems, but nothing on the scale of what we have today. Songs like this stir memories of warm summers and maybe not locking your front door or your car.

Hi there Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. I do read your heartwarming comments and I truly appreciate all you’ve done for me throughout the years. It’s a season of love for me and so I decided to put a smile on the faces of my fans by going through my KZread channel and checking out on my fans, so I can get to communicate with my fans better through discussion of depth and humor listening to compliments and criticism of my career 💞

God wants you to be vulnerable and honest when you pray. He knows what you're going to pray for before you even pray. And he doesn't listen to the big words you use or the very very long prayer, he looks at your heart. God bless all who are reading this!

I haven’t heard this song in a few decades! I was seven when this came out and hearing this song brings back so many memories of childhood. Crazy how hearing a song can do this.
