I was playin in a bar in Nashville yrs ago! I took a break and the Mgr told me someone wanted to meet me, he had a big smile on his face! Dolly had been in the audience and she told me she had to go to the ladies room to fix her makeup after I played my version of me Bojangles and told the story about Bill Robertson who was Mr Bojangles from the Shirley temple movie @the littlest colonel! She was so down to earth and she introduced me to many people in Nashville! That got my career started!

What a beautiful woman and I'm not talking about her looks.

Dolly Pardon is timeless I love the tone of her voice and her stageprence. Dolly you are the greatest inmybook.

Actually, when they panned to the crowd, they seemed bored and impatient. Barely a smile. They were acting like “Hurry up and finish y’all. You’re blocking the dartboard!” Seriously! Do they not know Dolly? Or an amazing singer/songwriter when they see one? I understand she’s not a Celtic singer (they’re all amazing throughout the years), but jeez. I’m actually German/Irish in America and this video kinda makes me embarrassed for my Irish half. The German side is supposed to be my dour side. Lol. Edit again. Thank you Mike for uploading this. It’s a rare treat to see celebrity musicians/singers in regular public performing. A few years ago classical concert pianists would play in public during Europe’s “Play me, I’m yours.” campaign. And I’d watch idiots walk right past what would be a $500 concert ticket. Astounded me.

That guitar man is awesome too! Dolly trusted him. So she took to the stage. She looks at his guitar and says: 'You've got your strings like that?'. It's determing the way the guitarnotes are going to sound. And the way she has to sing....

Yes, this is fantastic. Amazingly great. Great of that guitarman too. Dolly must have heard him earlier on in the evening. She trusted the skill/play of the guitarman. This is outragaous performance, no rehearsal. She, as a professional, had listened to him that evening and recognised his abilities. So she took to the stage... She looks at his guitar and says: 'You've got your strings like that?'. It's determing the way the guitarnotes are going to sound. And the way she has to sing....

dear David .. the song was written by dolly and first recorded in 1969 .. it was released in 1971.. her trip to Ireland was in 1990
