A lot of that is because she never did drugs. A lot of artists have done drugs which destroy their singing voice and causes other problems. Most country artists keep the same voice after many decades.

Dolly is a legend...even singing live well into her 70's her voice is amazing. Her lyrics, mostly all her own, very original work. She has stayed sane, generous, and stayed at the top of her game in a tough business. She has not come from privilege, but from literally nothing, true rags to riches. She has done a huge amount of work to promote education and literacy in the USA and all over the world. She is a genius, a legend, a hero.❤❤❤

Her voice is at least 90 percent as good as in her prime. That’s amazing. That’s doesn’t happen very often. Better singers have had sharper declines. But she really maintained. God bless.
