Hello I'm A finish Carpenter by trade, artistic and A leather crafter. But i'm very drawn to the whole D.I.Y.er Thang! One thing I see alot is DIYers destroying something to make something. (like an art canvas) I believe doing stuff like that can leave a negative effect on the environment in the long run. But from the videos I have seen from you is re purposing things. (if there was an apocalyptic event DIYers like you would rule the world!) I love your creativity! Due to my Construction Background I would do things just a lil different. So ive been searching for a creative and inexpensive way to organize my spice rack. Well ive found it! I love that industrial look! And believe me ive been searching! I love this Idea, have I mentioned that? LOL The only thing i would do different is use a 2 part epoxy Clay compound instead of the zip ties. Thanks for your Ideas!

I really like your comment! I am glad that you mentioned about the longterm impact of DIYs to our environment. I try to be conscious of that when doing my projects.i try to enhance and use the items without breaking them apart too much...but if and when I do... I also reuse the leftover parts. This is exactly what I was looking for so that I can use it for my spice jars. Thank you thank you thank you. I just bought the racks from dollar tree but they were $1.25 for a single rack. They weren’t in a set like you mentioned in your video but I will have to look for the desk organizers but I can’t wait to do this project.

Oh great! You found it! Yes, the prices at Dollar Tree went up the past couple years from $1.00 to $1.25 and some items they offer are higher from $3 upto $7. Enjoy your spice racks 😉💕😍 BTW, the set I mentioned are the white plastic skinny baskets.

Your glue gun has character. It shows it's served you well & should wear those scars proudly! I'd keep it if I were you. It shows you're a pro.

That would make for a good tie and scarf rack with 1 or 2 of the baskets on the top part to hold belt buckles and scarf accessories. Hang necklaces on the racks and put bracelets in the baskets. Thank you for the video!

Would like to of seen a wall hanging option but, You did mention command hooks. I'm so glad I found this bcuz, I didn't wanna spend 20 to 30 bucks on a spice rack for my kitchen. Even in my bathroom for things since I don't have any wall cabinets in there. Thank you an God bless!

It works well, and I hung it on the side of my cabinet with picture hooks. However I used a regular size cookie sheet instead of 2 smaller, as I didn't trust the weight breaking them apart. And I used baskets without compartments, but the same shape for my square jars.

I'd love to use this for my spices! Thanks for sharing♥

You have some awesome storage ideas that are gorgeous and practical, yet inexpensive and easily doable no matter a person's skill level. More than likely I will be making more than one but doing a mash up of several into one unique piece for my needs. It burns me up to see something basically identical to yours with no mention that it was inspired by yours. Great idea. This looks very nice and the basic idea can be expanded. It kind of reminds me of those wire rack organizers that they used like pegboard with hooks and shelves.
