I would also add a yellow to the light , some artificial spruce boughs with little pine cones & berries around the outside edge of the canvas. It turned out really cute. Thanks for sharing!❤❤❤

I really like this!! Super cute! I would also mod podge Mr. Snowman, then lay down white/irradescent glitter for his body and red glitter for his scarf. You could even take some light blue/icicle colored glitter on top of mod podge to highlight some patches of snow and frost.

I have these stencils. Bought mine at Hobby Lobby but I am sure they are available at other craft stores. They are frameless screen printing stencils. Regular stencils have open holes for paint to go through and are painted with daubers or special brushes. Paint is applied with straight up and down motions to avoid smearing under edges. These have a sticky backing to hold them in place and the holes are filled with sheer fabric. Screen printing ink is applied with a squeegee. Place a dab of screen printing ink or fabric ink, hold stencil and spread thinly with the squeegee, just as she did. I don't remember the brand of stencils I have but someone in a craft store can point them out to you. They can show you the ink and applicators. I think 'thermofax screen' is the generic name. Make sure to wash the ink out of the screen before it has a chance to dry and clog the pores. They are long lasting if cared for.

@paulinelarson465 what awesome info!! Thank you from one who knows nothing about it. I've used 1 stencil..in my entire craft journey....a butterfly. Did not dauber but paitnted...a very awful butterfly..LOL. lesson learned..this was before I discovered you tube and smart phones.

Hi Valerie, this was my 1st time seeing your channel. I really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. It came out so cute. I no longer decorate for the holidays. I was not blessed with any children & I lost both of my parents at the beginning of 2021 & I lost my husband last November. So now there's nobody who would see it. My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. Of course, when my Mom was still here she loved watching all of the Hallmark Christmas love story movies. Her house was always very decorated. My Step-dad loved decorated especially for Christmas. I have no plans for Christmas.

Marybeth - Decorate for yourself. I moved, rarely have people to my new place..I live alone. I have 2 kids..they visit occasionally, but I still decorate. I still have folks ask me why I still cook meals, try new recipes etc. I do it for me..why should I stop cooking because I live alone? Why would I not decorate for the holidays? I have seasonal knick knacks I put out too including for the holidays. Just because you live alone, doesn't mean you shouldnt decorate around the holidays.

A suggestion, when you apply the ink use up and down strokes covering the whole picture. That way you won't worry that you've missed any of it.

Very nice. I would have used some gesso or Snowtex for the snow and maybe added a some fine glitter. Put a little flame in the lamp post. Also I would have gone around the frame with the gesso or Snowtex to give it that snowy feel. 👍

The lamp needs a yellow glow. Adorable scene.

What is the cutest stencil what I would do extra would be go ahead and put the blue on the background. If you do it before you would have gotten blue where the white is on the snowman. Blue on the shadow of the snowman and on the ground for the snow shadows. Yellow and the lights faded out and snow on the lamp Post. It's adorable love it.

I'm a new subscriber. I've done a few stencils myself, but never any this large. I saw that one person commented that she got this stencil at Hobby Lobby. I'm hoping my local Hobby Lobby has the snowman scene you're doing in this video because I want one!!! It was quite enjoyable watching you.

This was beautiful in black and white! If color is added, only do the carrot nose and/or the scarf. The green trees overpower the snowman.
