Me too. I think Doll$boxx is one of the top 5 bands in Japan, and Japan is cream of the crop at the moment (Band Maid, One Ok Rock, Wagakki, Hanabie also on my top 5 list). My favorite in this group is, of course, Hana, who is super talented with her unique drumming style while also singing and not missing a tick. Oreo, as you said, is special because she puts different feels and voices out with her keyboard work, completely original sound and nothing conventional. But they are all talented on their instruments and as vocalists as well. This and Fragrance are my favorite two songs of theirs.

They have a MV for every song of the album and made it look like it's a continued story of a concept album with the "to be continued..."-scenes at the end. It's not really a concept album although it really sounds cohesive and they implement the Doll$-Theme throughout in the vids. This MV uses the studio audio but live footage, so you see Oreo and Kogo do the shouting (which they do live, sometimes Tomo-Zo chips in), but you hear the studio growls done by Hana. Oreo using her keyboards as a platform to kneel, crouch or stand upon is something she's been doing for a long time. And Hana's ability to play exhausting drum parts whilst doing some choreography and singing at the same time will always be mind boggling. Cheers Tim :)

this and 'merrily high go round' are my 2 favorites from 'doll's apartment. fantastic cd. glad i got it 7 years ago when it was still inexpensive ! bought the 2nd cd 'high spec high return in '18 and really hope they collab at least once more. you were right on first look - oreo has a raised pad that she is kneeling on at the start of this mv. too cool. she always used to say back then " i am the sexy one " ! she had that right

I'm currently trying to liquidate a classic car or two, in order to be in Japan in December to catch one or more of these live shows, as I don't think I will have another chance in this life, that's how much I love Doll$Boxx and Gachapin.

No other band has a song where the two of them(Fuki/vo., Hana/dr.vo) stay in harmony throughout the entire vocal line. And the perfectly synchronized unison solos on guitar(Tomo-zo) and synthesizer(OreoReona) are also great. They align with the theme of "Twin Star". Of course the sound is loud. As you pointed out, both of these could only be achieved if each of them had high skills. This song is really great. This review is based on the live-like MV, but they also perform perfectly in front of the audience at their actual live shows. As others have said, I'm looking forward to their comeback in December!

They will tour again in December! Though sadly only in Japan. Hopefully we’ll get some new music too but nothing confirmed yet.
