I reached out to Dolces customer service. They said they are the same formulation. They originally had 4 different fragrances in that line which is why they were numbered. They discontinued the other 3 fragrances but kept the L'imperatrice because of the popularity. The bottles without the 3 are newer bottles.

I just looked at the message again... So their were 5 others in the line and they were first released in 2009. (the bottles with the 3).The ones without the 3 were released later so they are newer batches but other than that they are the same.

In the original with the #3 there is Jasmine. In the newer version without the #3 the Jasmine has been replaced by Rose. There is a slight difference in the fragrances. The #3 Is a bit of a brighter fragrance and a bit "Fresher". The newer version with the Rose is still lovely but the Rose does give it a less sparkling fragrance. Again, There is little difference but there were some changes in the newer version which they called "Limited" for a while.

I knew I'm not going crazy. I ordered #3 received the regular. They do NOT smell the same on me. Very distinctive different scents on me. Both good, but I love the 3.

Thank you for doing this because at first I thought I got a fake when one from Nordstrom Rack didn't have the 3 and the one from Walmart had the 3. I kept searching online for this and on fragrantica they say that it is different, but they both smell the exact same to me on the opening and dry down. In addition, none is stronger or last longer. The color is the same as well. Both are a light pink. The only difference is literally the label on the bottle

I remember when that happened . 🤣 I was so confused because I literally had purchased L'imperatrice like 2 weeks before your video came out and I went and ran to look at mine . Mine has the 3 on it . I feel like I don't remember seeing any other L'imperatrice though when I looked it up to buy it . Idk just was weird ! I'm glad it wasn't any different though!

This is sooo good to know because I thought I had been duped. I thought I was specifically buying the 3 bottle but when I received it it didn't have the 3. So glad it is the same! I have really been into layering lately and if I layer this with Kayali Musk it is so good! It may just work on my chemistry but I think it is delicious!

I just purchased this fragrance without the 3 on bottle in Marshalls for $39. I love the scent but do have to over spray on both my skin & clothes to get any lasting power. Doing this gives me 2-3hrs top before I have to refresh. I'm a fairly new subbie & lovin your content thus far. We seem to have similar preferences in fragrance so I trust what you say & luv it when you turn your👃 up at a scent🥰🥰

I tested L’imperatrice in Ulta and bought it on the spot. Then I found the bottle with the 3 on it at Marshalls for half the price, so I bought it because people said it was the same, so I wanted to see. To me they smelled a little different side by side. I’ve been using the one with the 3 and just don’t like it as much as the first one I bought. I don’t know if it’s because they are actually different or because I got a bad one 🤷‍♀️. My husband compliments both of them. He says I smell “intoxicating” when I wear it.

I actually ended up seeing a bottles sold at Ulta without the 3, so it bought me back to your video that didn't have. So I don't think you have a knockoff or reformulated, I just think they changed the package. Btw I luv this smell, thinking of getting a backup.

I feel absolutely crazy. The one with and without the 3 smell different to me. The one with out the 3 smells similar to the one with the 3 but it’s missing that special spark that makes this fragrance different to me. I really wish I would of purchased the 3 when it was available. I’ve looked at every Sephora, Marshall’s, Ulta, TJMAXX, even fragrance net and have not been able to get the one with the 3 😩 they are definitely different

I bought both and realized they smell exactly the same. If you go to Fragrantica they list different notes...the one without the 3 doesn't have rhubarb listed as a note...so weird. I love this fragrance it's better than the typical light blues out there.

I had this fragrance as a teen which was years ago. I just repurchased it recently and it smells the exact same to me.

I bought this as a bling buy about 2years ago I did not like it 😖 then today 3/7/22 I give it another try hooonnnneeeeyyy AMAZING 🤩. I almost give it away so many times 🥴

my girl has both bottle the old one(with 3 and D&G logo) and the new one (without 3 and Dolce Gabbana spell out), and what she said is the new one has kiwi and watermelon on the fresh spray and strong watermelon on the dry down, while the old one has strong watermelon on the opening and kiwi on the dry down... i believe the limited edition one has more pink-ish juice

Does it smell as good as GUCCI Bloom?

I ran out of the #3 bottle and was sent the bottle without the #3 when I repurchased. I could smell a difference. IMO the bottle with #3 was sweeter and much more unique than the one without 3. That newer version also seams to have more of a sour note that doesn’t smell the same as the prior version on my skin. 😢

Try spraying some in an unscented lotion and layering the scents of the lotion and the spray. And also apply on your clothes and hair.

Sephora just started carrying it! Do the freshly made versions last longer? I’ve used this fragrance #3 since it came out. I’ve bought on Groupon and recently on eBay. I noticed that one bottle was made in France and the other in the United Kingdom. Hoping the UK version is the same quality; it’s en route to me now. Not sure if it matters where it’s made as long as it’s not counterfeit.

@@AmyGlam Oh, yeah. This stuff is great. For a man this is for those hot, nasty, humid summer days when even Commodity, Bergamot is too heavy.

This perfume really bums me out. I remember owning it like 10-11 years ago before it got “discontinued” & it was such a beautiful fragrance! I remember it being more musky, creamy, softer & lasted longer than the 30 minutes it does now. It’s more tart/sour & fresh than I remember it. So disappointed & to me not worth buying anymore because of the lack of lasting power. I think when it launched at Sephora & Ulta maybe they reformulated? That’s my experience anyway. Anyone know where to get the limited edition? Would love to smell that one. So glad I found your channel btw, really enjoy your content! 💖💖🙂

I really wanted to like the #3 because I love watermelon smell but there is something sour that makes me nauseated 😭 I think its the rubharb. Not sure if the limited edition would be different.

Yes, the rhubarb gives off a tart sour scent but I got used to it and actually love it now. The limited edition doesn’t have rhubarb so that one sounds perfect for you 🥰☺️

The original had the '3' on it. Then they released a limited edition of it (different notes, with strawberry etc) without the '3' on the bottle... After this, they've kept making the original, however they don't put the '3' on it anymore. So there are (/have been) two different numberless bottles out there, though the strawberry limited edition shouldn't be as widely available anymore...

But still, they made it confusing!

My sister has the one without the 3 ...I have the 3 ....she mentioned a smokey note ...that's when I knew it was different. She has the limited addition or something is different. And I ordered it from fragrancenet for her birthday. With the assumption she was getting the same as me . But nope she got the limited addition. Different notes...I'm tempted to order another and see if I get the same one she did🤣🤣🥴

Which is more long lasting the one original w3 or the limited edition?

I just watched a video of a guy showing how to spot fake versions of this fragrance. He mentioned that the one with the number 3 is made in the UK and the one without the number on it is made in France. I bought mine a few days ago and it doesn't have the number on it and I checked the bottom of it and it says its made in France so I guess he was right.

On the D&G website they have the bottle without the 3 and there is no mention of a limited edition so I'm guessing that it has just been repackaged as they didn't keep the others in the series.

The same thing happened to me!

Sure they’re different, the one with number 3 lasts until the next day, whereas the newer version only a couple of hours and misses the kiwi and it isn’t crispy, to me is rubbish..

My favorite perfume for summer… it smells musky and I hated it before now I’m a little older and it’s a rebuy every two years. It smells like watermelon and sweat from a rich women lol. My ex boyfriend was obsessed when I wore it. I’m trans so I think the musk mimics that girlish skin sweat vibes that I don’t have naturally but a lot of my genetic females have when we dance or go to the gym ect. The pink pepper, musk, and watermelon combo are so unique.

Does it stay on long ?

There is a big difference in fragrances: L'Imperatrice 3 appeared in 2009 and had this notes of pepper and rhubarb that I didn't like. L'Imperatrice that appeared in 2020 I just adore, it's much better, it's very feminine and sexy, that I just fell in love with!

I hate this perfume 🤢🤢🤢🤢
