The dance is moving. The taller princess found out that the shorter one is the courtesan favored by her ex-fiance. Her ex-fiance is steadily heading to ruin because the taller princess had to marry a King. So the taller princess brings the courtesan to the palace to dance to ask her as a favor, sister to sister, "please take care of my true love who I cannot be with". It's tragic and wildly moving. And yes, the handsome guy is as close to a villain as you can get in this movie.

Yes we can learn traditional dances at some schools but the really good dancers start practicing at early age of 5-6 at at least practice for 15-20 years to become legit traditional dancers. there are 6 classical dance forms in India.Other actress the legendary Madhuri dixit was PREGNANT while filming the song, must have been difficult for her.
