I was thinking that too. The only problem that is not how the current Supreme Court will see it. Obama broke the law by entering the sovereign country of Pakistan to kill Bin Laden. This Supreme Court is totally partisan, they gave total immunity to any official act by the president legal or not making the president above the law. If Merrick Garland had started the investigation from day one, it would have been seen or claimed to be purely political. But once Trump announced his candidacy, Garland had a justification for appointment ting a special council to “avoid the appearance” of it being political. And now Clarence Thomas is trying to say that appointment was illegal. Garland did his job and if you think he should have been quicker you are being blind to the current political climate.

The Republic lost the moment Mitch McConnell denied an appointment to the sitting president and then RBG didn't step down when we had a president interested in the wellbeing of the nation seated in the White House. Garland showed me what a wimp he is when Trump wasn't made to stand trial in D.C. with the leader of The Oath Keepers. He then went even further with his idiocy by bringing the documents case in Florida when the initial theft of documents was out of D.C.. Overall, his lethargic taking of years before acting against Trump and his higher ups, again shows how incompetent he is.

Attorneys who are way smarter than you and I state the case had to be brought in Florida. Why? Because 45 isn’t being charged for taking the documents, which began in DC. His charged crimes all occurred in Florida. Whether we like it or not, this was the correct thing to do. Legally speaking.

Garland was given the position of AG precisely because the Biden and "corporate Dems" were afraid to put a hard-assed AG in place to go after trump. This is a recurring problem with the Dems, always afraid to stand up and fight. They think trump would be easy to beat, even with GOP gerrymandering, voter purges, fake elector plots, "hanging chads" "lost" ballots and the SCOTUS aligned against us. It's too late to do anything about Garland, time now for street protests, boycotts, and other legal acts of public resistance against the GOP neo-nazi movement.
