seriously though. there are a lot of people in hawaii that are new from Micronesia. I have had two that came and asked me to see if I can get their new car too run problem? no gas. now you have to remember most places in Micronesia do not have roads they are tiny atolls. they may have bike or moped trails but not highways. so I put gas in for them and reset the brain and show them the the gas gauge and tell them don't let the gas go below 1/4 and I take them down the station for gas and show them how to put it in safely and walk away shaking my head.

35 yrs an electrician and for more than 20 yrs I get at least 1 call a week be it a friend, neighbor or relative with some electrical issue. Fortunately I can usually fix it over the phone. Years ago I wanted to start a 900 number system for electrical issues but my father said I was a dumass for thinking of that. A few years later people were making millions off of that kinda thing. It was before the internet so I missed my shot. Now I'm working on my 2cnd million tho. I gave up on my first.

I love your videos, I just can't say that enough. I try to make sure I watch all of them. They really are so helpful as a single mother because there's a lot of things I didn't know about cars. For instance, I didn't know you had to balance and rotate your tires every five or eight thousand miles until the last time I bought tires because no one had ever told me. I thought it was something you got done when you got new tires and that was it, a one-time thing. That's why my tires never lasted long but no one ever bothered to tell me any different, my own dad never even taught me that so once I said something, he was like well yeah, if you don't keep them balanced and rotated then they can get crooked basically and we're out and I didn't know this and the lady that worked at the tire shop said, okay will you know if you don't put oil in your car, your engine will blow up right? I thought that was so rude but I said, actually yeah I do know that because I have an oil leak so I have to do that every week. It's the crankshaft seal and you have to do the timing belt along with the water pump and the place quoted me $450 but they never said anything about the timing belt and the water pump, that's what my family mechanic told me so I don't know if that price includes everything or literally just the seal. Does that seem like a price for everything? I'm not sure but I know that I've had a water pump go out and I've had to have it replaced before and just that alone was like $300 but I've also heard that when you have a crankshaft seal oil leak, everything comes inside of a kit with a water pump, timing belt and the new seal. So I would think that's why it makes it cheaper plus are already in there doing all that work right by the water pump in the timing belt. There's just so much invaluable information that I've learned from watching your Channel so I really appreciate it, I say this all the time but I just want you to know

@@DayofJudgement-ur5gp WRONG! In modern computerized vehicles, the engine can cut off fuel if there is low load or no load on the engine. If you stay in gear and let off the gas while the engine speed is above idle, the engine will cut off fuel. Because you are in gear, the wheels will keep turning the engine so it doesn't stall. If you are in neutral the wheels won't turn the engine, so the engine has to send fuel to maintain idle. The computer will always maximize fuel consumption and emission levels. You can't outsmart the computer.

Scotty, had a rental car yesterday - Nissan Kicks 2020. The gas mileage was horrible. Fuelled it up yesterday in the evening around 8 pm. The following day, around 11 am, the fuel indicator was at 76% already. Put regular fuel as per the rental company's guide. There is no bloody way it consumes so much fuel because i only drove around 50 km that day. Definitely something from with the car. When i noticed it driving yesterday, I immediately remembered your video. Thanks a bunch! You are GOD !

Scotty - EPA testing involves the use of Indolene as a fuel, which has a relatively high octane rating. EPA testing never exceeds 60 MPH and never uses full throttle. Interesting how the engineers work with these parameters.

pretty awesome presentation of everyday stuff that we as non car-mechanics overlook. Sigh, my first brake job on my first car, (78 subaru 4x4 station wagon), I had spare parts..

Had a 1986 jetta 1.8 gas and would fill up with super once in awhile just to see if it would make a difference and I noticed no change in gas mileage or power until I advanced the timing manually just before it would knock. Power went up alotttttt and fuel economy went up also. If I didnt change timing back to original setting refueling with regular gas would decrease power drastically and it would knock at higher throttle. In today's cars like my 1997 sunfire which has a knock sensor timing changes according to octane of gas used and so does gas mileage and power. I have a wireless obd2 hooked up wirelessly to my phone and can see live fuel economy and timing advance as I drive. Great video as usual.
