In this video I compare the Dogue De Bordeaux dog breed with the Rottweiler dog breed to determine which is better as a guard dog, protection dog or home defense. The Rottweiler was once known as the butchers dog and used to pull carts and guard money. The Dogue De Bordeaux also has a history as a guard dog, pulling carts and guarding flocks.

Thanks for your video.We should compare bite stats to humans from these two breeds .The Rottweiler will lose here because he bites alot of humans.Rottweilers should be bred for a better temperament then it would be an ideal guard and family dog.

My Dogue is only 4 months away from his 10th birthday. Dogues are starting to live much longer these days and life expectancy is now 8 - 10 years. Also Dogues can get up to over 180lbs and still not be overweight. Thought I do agree that overall Rottweilers are a better choice for home protection as Dogues tend to be softer mouthed and less inclined to use their full bite strength. Interesting point to not though is that there are also long-haired versions of each breed. Dogues do better in cooler climates and don't tend to do well in high temperatures. Also a bigger dog equals bigger vet bills!

You’re whole analogy and point system is total BS!!!! The Bordeaux should of won the protective skin around the neck, should of won life expectancy ( I have 2 and the oldest passed away at almost 11…….This whole video, except the bite force is total BS…
