Have had many Rottweilers, have learned that their brains are wired different than most dogs. My first experience training a puppy taught me a lot about what NOT to do. They are different, so must be trained different. This video does an excellent job, and the technique works 100% of the time. It takes practice, and you must make the training positive and fun for the pup.
i have a one month young puppy, rottweiler and great dane breed. thank you for uploading this video, it healps me a lot in training my dog
I studied this video for years and Rottweilers for years while in college. I’m 30 now and just got my first pup and I found myself searching high and low for this video ! Thanks sir
Maverick, that is a great dog name!
Recently there has been a couple of cruel and sickening comments left here so I have deleted them and blocked the user form posting any more of these comments. These videos are here to help any puppy/ owner to get a better understanding of how to teach basic and reliable exercises to their dog. I hope it continues.
Great training tips. Also really important to remember that the dog knows how to sit, come, lie down etc. What we teach is communication and cooperation. If the dog isn't getting it, the human isn't communicating well. It is up to the human to figure out how to fix that. Be prepared to train all the time and to spend lots of time with a puppy. Any behavior that is "bad" behavior is an opportunity to train! Be patient with yourself and your dog. Get help from a pro if you get stuck!
Best training video I've found on KZread. I've got a 10 week old springer I'm just starting to train, so will look to your videos for guidance!
That puppy is so cute 🥰 You made me laugh when you said don’t drag out the training or the puppy will fall asleep and forget everything 🤣
I've watched loads of these dog training type videos. This one is definitely one of the better ones.
Thank you so much Sidney!! This really helped me alot. I've trying to find good videos that actually help me with the name and leash situation!! This really helped me
LOL i love how the rotty went to sleep after the training session lolol

Great video, Thank you for posting this it's very helpful and God bless!
Awesome instructions … easy for beginners like myself
I'm training my rott and husky puppies with beef jerky. Both have learned to sit and their names, i'm currently working on getting them stay.
the first part where you call him to come to you wouldnt work with my rottie bc she would already know that i have treats in my hand hahah
How many times should i practice this and for how long? thanks for the replay
I have a 14 week lab retriever and when I walk him, he wont respond to treats, in fact he wont eat at all when he is outside, which is exactly how my former dog behaved. It is hard to reward him for his good behaviour.
Absolutely!
Thanks for the reply.
Aww hes soo cute
Thank you!! Great Help Video! :)

He has a new owner now.
Thanks!

I have the same collar and leash for my 11 week old pitbull, he is such the rock head LOL!!
Thanks
Nice video
cute puppy :D
So what do I do if my puppy Hates the leash?
CUTE.
Thanks for the video! Do you have any videos/photos oof Maverick today?
make sure you see both parents and that they have excellent temperaments so important...the better the temperament, the more trainable your dog will be. apart from this, on `quality`, google the breed standard profile of the rottweiler . Correct feeding is all important with large breeds as puppies, too as rottweilers are prone to a lot of diseases and degenerative joint issues as adults. good luck , rottweilers are amazing companions
What's the best treat
what the dog likes the most
I wish i could understand what he says, i mean i'm from south america and that accent is really difficult for me to understand. What a beautiful puppy btw.
Excellent training methods discussed here which I may adopt for my own dog training site
How many minutes should we train an 9 week Rottweiler for per day?
Do you wait to use treat when the dog is really hungry? Do you use treats instead of its meals?
I no longer have Maverick and no I don't have any more vids or pic's....sorry
how soon should i teach my dog

am going to buy a rottweiler but i need tips on what should i look for in a rottweiler so that i could know that am getting a good quality dog if you have some tips you could give me it would be really cool
Really nice training video 👍 nice and easy going, 💛 like people should be. I don't like Sergeant major's 👮👎 they're not soldiers on the drill square. Beautiful, adorable little pup.💕💕Rottweilers are the Cutest. 🐻

My puppy doesn’t want to go for a walk anymore just lays down and refuses to go anywhere-what can I do??
Can I ask how old was Maverick when te video was shot?
My Layla is 8 wks old and when I use harness she rolls on the ground and thrashes like a wild dog. Its frustrating due to the leash will save her life where I live.
my puppy know how to come to me just does not like the leash
Great video. I bought a puppy rottweiler last week, she`s 50 days old, she keeps biting me really hard, I tried yelping like another dog, tried holding her down and tapping under the jaw, but she reacts and bites again. Can you please help me?
nice
I have german chepard very activ icant train him
Is a rottweiler a good 1st dog to have?
turn on captions and LOL
I have a farm and run six miles a day with my dogs... after she decides I`m not ''the rabbit'' it`s all brilliant, but yeah, running seems to be the trick... make her pass out of exhausting so we can finally ''cuddle'' 'evil grin'
Couldn't quite hear at the beginning of the video. What kind of mix is that Rotty?
@makamalu

bigpoppafreeman That’s not a mix, he stated early in the video that he’s got a male Rottweiler puppy.

Yes he's a pure bred Rottweiler
at what age should i leash train my puppy?
@sidneyaarons
6 жыл бұрын
I let the puppy settle in first and allow him to get use to a collar. So around 10 weeks of age I'll introduce the leash.
♥️👍😄
Of coarse!
hi Sidney, what are the most common dog treats?
@maxsantilla8509

Yes I am interested what kind of dog treats you give sir....thanks
Yep, tried that, I think that she thinks it`s peek a boo, and barks then eats a part of my arm (btw I`m being dramatic) I`m doing a Jed I mind trick, saying sit or stop, and when/if she stops I give a biscuit... seems to be working... sort of. But thanks!
from 2010 lol that dog must be fat right now by giving him all the cookies :D

So you know there's a difference between American and german rotweilers? Many people don't understand this.

Stay focused maybe you should be trained. That has nothing to do with this video.
First, you have to know about your canine's behavior plus treat your canine as the way he or she thinks if you want to transform your dog into your best mate.
Can i just give food than treats?
@sidneyaarons

Whatever your dog likes. I've used mince meat and all sorts of food over the years to help teach dogs.
It’s weird to see a rott with a full tail😟

I can't find a training treat my dogs like. ... except real cheese which of course isn't good for pups in any quantity and costs a blood fortune in Thailand anyway. But every store-bought treat I can find has failed miserably.

I know this sounds weird but maybe they like veggies. I trained my puppy with bits of carrot. He loved it. Some of them like lettuce even.

I am trainning a 4 month old Frenchie and when she just sits there I get her to come by temtping her with food and it always works. Hopefully with that she understands that when she comes to wear I am with her leash, it is a positive thing.

Find a treat that your dog likes then inch the dog forward. -the Rot in the video is a bit more energetic and free willed than yours. So you have to take slower and smaller steps.
Hmmkaaay
Thanks
