Thanks for the Video. We just got a GSD puppy and he's now 2.5 months old, extremely handsome, playful and smart. But he just keeps biting and nipping ALL the time. Esp with my mother - he just gets hyper excited when he sees her and starts biting her hands and feet instantly. All my family members have bite marks and scratches on our hands. We are trying all possible ways to control him but its turning out to be difficult.

An update on this comment, now that my GSD is ~5 months old. He is suddenly so matured and understanding. Has completely stopped biting (over with his teething issues), but he does show his love & affection by nipping us, but this is not hard biting at all, he too understands how hard to dig his teeth, and it feels so affectionate when he does so. Its a job how he is so super excited, when we go out and return home, he licks and bites us all over - without hurting us.

How much did your GSD weight when he was 2.5 months old? I have a male gsd and he weighs around 2.5 kg in 2.5 months

Thank you very much! My puppy is terrible! I was always afraid of dogs and my husband decided adopting a German shepherd she's terrible keeps biting me and I was already stressed! I will try your tips!!!

You're very welcome! Also a great exercise is teaching the puppy to passively watch us move our hands and legs and rewarding him for resisting nipping them. This takes a little to train, but if you can teach your pup to sit and stay and then wave your hand a little and then toss a treat to reward not trying to nip, then wave hand a little more and then toss a treat, and then move more and more, your pup can learn the concept that "I get tasty treats when I resist hands or feet being waved in front of me!"

Hey so I have two 10 weeks German Shepherd puppies and I need to put tick medicine and ear mite medicine on them and they bite each other all the time. I can teach them not to chew furniture and it my hands but turn around I leave then they bite each other and play fight. I’m also worried that they will let the medicine ask each other’s ears or neck and get sick. They also have scabs and I don’t know what it’s from because I got them 2 days ago but now I think it’s from biting each other. I saw open scabs on then when I return from my errands. Please help!

I hope you re-homed him before you screwed him up. It takes commitment, effort and the willingness to learn how to work with these amazing dogs to raise a GSD.
