If you're planning to go to the beach with your dogs make sure you pack a bag for your dogs. The sand could be as hotter than the street pavement outside. You must put booties on your dog's Paws or they will burn their paws off on the sand. If you have a dog that is a white colored or pinkish color skin dog make sure you apply some type of baby sunscreen to their coats. Also if you're planning to go into the ocean, make sure you keep your dog on a leash. Some dogs can swim and others cannot. If your dog cannot swim or has never been into the water before please get a doggy life jacket. Make sure you have your dog leash attached to the life jacket harness. And never let go. Also if you're planning to go to the beach make sure you bring enough drinking water for your dog. Make sure you bring a 5 gallon container of clean drinking water to wash your dog down off the saltwater from its skin or you will have severe infections. These are great tips to keep in mind. Honeymoon Island in Dunedin has a great dog beach. Just remember it's a long trail from the parking lot to the dog beach, the pavement is extremely hot, and then the sand is also extremely hot. Provide your dog with plenty of shade along with a portable tent or canopy. And make sure they have a leash on at all times
