I did this when I was a to go specialist at Olive Garden. With no makeup on, I would make 15 to 30 dollars for a 6 hour shift, but with makeup, I would make 100 to 120. It was wild.

I have a theory about this. It might not just be pretty privilege! I think when we put makeup on and spend time on how we look we actually feel better, so it's a mood and confidence booster. Being happier and confident probably influences more people. 🤔

Server consumer Psychology trick! I use tiny gems sticked on with lash glue near my eyes and glitter because humans are attracted to shiny things. My tips went from $70-80 to $100-120! A little detail can lowkey go a long way

You basically doubled your tips with make up on! 😳 I personally notice I get tipped more when I have a full face on too. It sucks because I don’t always feel like wearing make up :(

I just started serving and realized I get more tips when I wear my “slutty” black turtleneck rather than just a black button down lol

I think it’s a cool experiment, I served for a pizza place for over a year. I had colorful hair and made pretty okay money. But when I was a blonde & served I made way better tips. It’s kinda sad how our physical appearance plays a role 😅😆😭

I never counted the difference on tips, I usually just wore base foundation and powder with lip balm, but on days that I wore eyeshadow I noticed other women would be more agreeable with me on those days. Not sure if it gave me a confidence boost and put me in better spirits or other ladies would be more respectful because if the added effort

I wore makeup for the first time at work today, I just recently started my job at this restaurant. My first four days I didn’t wear any makeup. I started serving on my own on Wednesday last week and made $164 with no makeup. Today I made $215 wearing eye makeup given I had to wear a mask.

I work at a bakery and I think wearing even just a little makeup w a nice hairstyle gets you more tips. Not because your "prettier" but because you look a little more put together, like your trying and you don't look like you rolled out of bed. I personally always do two dutch braids and customers always compliment me, it feels nice haha

I hate im just seeing this but what i learned being a server is that wear makeup during the week and no makeup on Sunday idk why this works but it does

probably because sunday is church day, so a lot of more conservative people are going out to eat. generally ive found conservative people don't appreciate a full face of makeup as much ☺️

yesss, I didn’t get tipped once bc I wasn’t smiling (I bite my lip a lot when I’m nervous and it was my first day) but I’m really good with my voice so they’ll think I’m smiling and happy lol

hannah , these friends next to us left a $3 tip on there table and I noticed it got the cute waitress sad... we made eye contact several times :) but she busy so I'm not thinking much other than her eyes are pretty..... we left, my friends all left tips ontop of me approaching her and giving her a $100 tip and I said Sorry for my friends.($3 tip table). and I also told her she was beautiful and a hard worker...instantly she started smiling and giggling ..I think I made her blush. she said thank you .. and that she always here working .. she smiled and giggled as she walked away ,,i'm guessing to regain control of her blushing? haha but yea we are both attractive people...hannah is it easy to make someone blush? don't waitresses have a emotional shield up 24/7 from guys

I will say that depends on the time/restaurant. Where I served Thursday lunch obviously was much slower than Friday lunch, but Thursday dinner was a whole new beast compared to Friday dinner.

How about just lipstick n some bronze? Would be more comfy for us :) I dont like wearing foundation, and eyes makeup, I have oily skin, sometimes it melts and stings my eyes, lol

i dont wear foundation, but on busy nights such as fridays and saturdays, i wear eye makeup and my hair is in buns or cute hairstyles and earrings. on slow nights only have my eyebrows done maybe mascara and thats it ahah.

Unpopular opinion (probably): I've noticed that when I wear makeup, its actually the opposite for me. I usually make more with a bare face, but if felt like applying makeup, it ended up being a terrible money night. Which sucks, I love playing with makeup, but I don't always make time for it 😂

That is so not gonna happen. 1 if you don’t feel like being dolled up then don’t. Like yes appearance matters so you need to have you hair kept up and such but you don’t have to do a full face. You can make lots of money by being nice
