Does Uptown Phoenix Meet Our Specific Neighborhood Needs?

#myphx #visitarizona #midlifecouple #nomads
Phoenix is city number 5 on our “living in 12 cities in 12 months journey.” We found an apartment in Uptown Phoenix to call home for a month. As we have done in every place we’ve lived in so far, we’ve used our neighborhood needs checklist to see if it might be a good move for us. On our checklist, within walking distance, we need (want): coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, group fitness places, outdoor fun, and arts and entertainment. Are we able to get all that we want here?

Thank you for spending time in Phoenix! I grew up there, and I loved to see it once again through you. Chris - you are so right. You will NOT EVER want to walk your groceries home in mid-July!!! It's much more of a driveable city than a walkable one. You can fry an egg on the sidewalk, mid summer. Or burn your feet walking to your own mailbox barefoot when it is 120 degrees outside. Trust me on this one. It happened to me! :D No bueno.

I've been to Phoenix a couple of times in summer and oh ya it's hot! Another great review. News from Vancouver ... after many months of high temps in the 110F range, forest fires, and drought we were now hit with tornadoes and monsoons. All highways in and out of Vancouver are gone due to floods and mudslides. .

We've been watching the news down here... right after we left Vancouver last May, everything went crazy. Maybe we weren't supposed to leave!

This would technically still be Downtown Phoenix. You are in the Roosevelt Row neighborhood and you went to Midtown a couple times. You are also close to the light rail which could have taken you to the downtown fry’s grocery store. The Pemberton I believe still has group fitness classes and is a nice outdoor area to try different foods and drinks. It is hot in the summer, but think of Phoenix summers like opposite Minneapolis winter. That’s when most people stay inside, and while it is still hot most people go out at night when it cools down.

Thank you for the info! And we wondered if that's what it is like in the Summer. (that it's like a reverse MN winter. :D)

I mention this for clarification. I picked it up on your last video and now I can’t shake it. Your 12 Cities in 12,Months. Please tell me your not being sponsored by Sonders. That your care free attitude is not some publicity stunt to promote Sonders I mean you have to admit. It s not an outlandish theory.

We are NOT sponsored by Sonder. So far we've liked it more than our AirBnb experiences. We chose 12 cities in 12 months before we knew of Sonder.

@@chrisplusmelissa Thank you for the honesty. I rather like your videos. However, it was just sticking in my head. It has been my experience if you have a question ask it. Worse case scenario people tell you to mind your own business. However more likely than not with something like this they laugh and tell you to give your head a shake. Good video. Hope you both continue to be well. .
