Any synth compared to Moog One and Sequential Prophet series would immediately became afforadable😂These are the most premium stuff in the industry hahaha, I eventually chose Arturia's synthesizer is also because it's price is relatively competitive while its very modern. They really did a great job!

What I really like about the Arturia Synth is that you can get a lot of pleasant drive and dirt without any effort. Just crank the oscillator and use feedback and so on. Basic saw wave sounds amazing. The Microbrute as expander with better midi implementation would be quite something.

Can you also review the Bass Station II? 😊

Hi. In response to 9:37 in the video: I have the keyboard version of this synth. It does come with a set of patch cables, more precisely 8 of them if I remember it correctly. (Synth is currently in its box on a shelf, don’t want to unbox just to count the patch cables.) By the way, wouldn’t it be a better idea to go for a ROMpler and use that as a sound module when playing on a MIDI wind controller? You can’t really get any authentic woodwind sounds from an analog subtractive synth, but perhaps that not what you’re looking to do?

Thanks for watching! I was talking about the red split cable I was using the "double map" breath to filter and volume. And you're right, romplers or physical modeling synths are totally the way to go for realistic woodwind sounds! I actually play a bunch of acoustic wind instruments though so I'm more interested in electronic sounds, usually!

yes i have a question! i wander what is the technical naming of when the trumpet screamming or get shrilling? ... also id be curious to understand , i suppose that its because of turbulency of the air in the instrument? also i wonder how this could be simulated as a synthesis function..

Would it be possible to use this with the EWI-USB? Or does it require a 5 pin midi connection?

I'm not sure. The manual specifies that the USB port is to connect to a DAW rather than a MIDI controller. I suspect it won't work, but I could be wrong. You'd need a USB B to B cable which isn't common. Might be worth emailing Arturia about

It may be possible if you get a USB to MIDI Host box or maybe the CME Uhost product. There also maybe some options via the Eurorack world. Doesn’t the 5000 have a USB Type B port as well? Does it do USB midi via that jack? I think Artinoise, the makers of the Re.corder we’re producing a MIDI to CV converter.

The easiest way is to connect both, the EWI and the synth to your computer and route the incoming midi signal to the synth. Usb host to midi will work as well.

I have a question ⁉️ It looks like you seal your lips around the mouthpiece. Do you blow completely through or do you leak air out the sides of your mouth 🤯 I play flute and trumpet, but when I play the EWI if I seal my lips around the mouthpiece I start to feel like I'm suffocating 😔

Hey, yeah I do! Sometimes if I have extra air at the end of my phrase I'll leak air out the sides of my mouth but otherwise I've gotten used to playing it with not much air
