Thank You Dr. B.. I have to ask You if You know of any very reputable caregivers in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area? It can be rough to find Doctors or a really good practice. There's a lot to consider as it's a personal subject. It can be overwhelming. Pain Management in My area only wants to stick needles in My back every 3-4 weeks!! That doesn't work anymore. Meds, exercise/exercises,diet and rest and the ability to withstand and deal with pain to a point,a reasonable point as there's not a 'magic bullet' that does it all. Take care everyone.

I was embarrassed and humiliated that my employer would know. That they wouldn't trust me even though I was on literally the lowest dose (I was taking crumbs of a pill and was still sick and withdrawing). My physician had me in what he called 'the concierge club' because of my low-dose and not having to see him as much. I ended up spacing the days in between taking it and then getting off of it. The whole point of this was that it isn't always a nefarious reason why you wouldn't want your employer to know or ask this question. I also know people that were honest and weren't treated with respect and didn't get the job. I suppose that's the chance we take in life. It's unfortunate that I had to even call a doctor after six days of being off of it but I didn't have the time to be sick working full-time and a student. Just to clarify, I totally understand why people ask this question.

I went a doctor for my anxiety and he UA tested me. I told them beforehand that im on suboxone but they told me that only THC came up positive. Typically only county or government agencies use the biggest panel UA test available. Like 20 different drugs.

Thanks for the ❤. With all the fentanyl anologs. Rehabs have started sending UA test out to the actual laboratory. 2 weeks later they receive a letter in the mail with the EXACT drug in the system. 2019 was the last time i was there lol

I was given a prescription Subutex and I took a urinalysis for a company called rigid Constructors as a welder position. I explained it to them I gave all the information at the physical where I took the urinalysis and they still refuse me the job. Most of us are asking this question because it doesn't just take two weeks to get off of it it takes months if not years for it to completely allow yourself to feel normal depending on the time the length of time you've been taking it. Some of us can't afford that amount of time but we can function perfectly fine on it. It was extremely heartbreaking and upsetting to know that that disqualified me from a well-paying job and damn near black listed me because it was a DOT test. I've tried to get off of this stuff I've given myself a full month and it was hell! I've never experienced thing like that physically mentally and emotionally. I really wished that there was a non-narcotic form of something or substance rather to help one get off of the addiction of opiates so that they could get the job they need without the shame the embarrassment and the length of amount of time it takes to go through the withdrawals. From my experience the withdrawals from opiates it's a lot shorter in much easier than going through the withdrawal of a prescribed medication designed to help you overcome an opiate addiction. It's worse

I’m concerned for an employment exam... it seems like a grey area to me 😬I’m worried they’ll be bothered by it and think I can’t be behind the company wheel etc. I already had a hysterical manager try to interrogate me over it once, not that they knew what I was taking - it just almost got to that point where they almost inquired, which I thought was illegal.

My addiction came from the start of an injury I sustained while in the service. I got very reliant on opiates Percocet mainly. It cost me a lot I don't want to take them, but I'm in pain all the time from chronic back pain and unfortunately I will always have to deal with that. However my work ethics are great I'm always on time I'm always in the right uniform and I'm always in the correct place when I need to be but since I'm on a medication it's designed and has the stigma of a person who has an addiction issue It ultimately costs me many opportunities when it comes to work. I have an electronic technician degree, I have an HVAC technician and Refrigeration degree, I have a welding degree, I'm also experienced in it. Most of those trades I can't do anything because I have to operate heavy equipment I have to drive a company vehicle since I have to do those the medication doesn't allow me to have this job. I feel backed into a corner I've spent 4 years of my life going to school for trades did I'm unable to use spent 10 years of my life in the army and this is what it's going on with me right now it's very depressing

@@MikeMike-mx5fx hello mike well I found out it wasn’t one of the things they tested for plus I have a Dr script for it so it’s legal. Tester lady told me if any thing is detected ie subs then I have to provide proof I have the script. But on the 10 panel test subs r not tested for.

Because it’s not considered technically a pain management therapeutic medication. Even though you and I realize it’s excellent for pain and less risky, the medical community views it more as a stigmatized treatment medication for someone who has opiate addiction problems and is looking to get off pain killers. However, there is a loophole, whereas recently they came out on the market with Belbuca which is basically the same thing with buprenorphine as the main and only ingredient in it, and it’s taken under the tongue just like suboxone strips. I know it sounds absurd but they will only use Belbua for pain management, prescribed by PM Doctors. Hope it helped. God bless.

All I can say and I hope maybe someone might read this that is suffering from chronic pain and addiction issues one or both is give suboxone a chance. I use to take 3 - 40 mg oxycontin a day and for the last 10 years I have gotten by with 2 suboxone a day. Don't be an opiate slave if you can help it and I know everyone is different but try it you will benefit from it. Thank you for responding and the new info on the new med.

@@davidhoover8862 oh don’t ever worry about the DEA. that’s actually a meaningless excuse pain management doctors use to convince you that they cannot give you more pain medications then they already are, even though they absolutely can if they wanted to. They just don’t want to be liable, that’s the only reason why they don’t wanna prescribe higher dosages and more opiates. However, they will never say that, so they will use the DEA as a scapegoat to talk you out of even asking for it. The DEA is only interested in legitimate highly crooked quack doctors that run illegal opioid underground businesses. Those are the places that the DEA have on their radar, they say that 98% of pain management doctors never once meet or even speak to a DEA agent so don’t believe that futile and lame deceptive excuse when they happen to come out with it. They hate when people like me know that truth and call them out on it. They like people that believe and obey them but we as pain patients have our rights too but they will never tell you that. So basically when I said the medical community, I only meant pain management doctors and staff. That’s it.

@@davidhoover8862 1mg of sub is equivalent to about ~50mg of hydro/oxy. Glad you’re doing better, but don’t be fooled into thinking it’s any better. If you ever try to get off of them for good coming off two a day is going to be absolutely crazy. Maybe if someone has a stupid high habit when they start treatment may need more than one a day, but past that there’s almost no reason anybody would need more than one once they’ve gotten established. It’s active, & half life are one of the longest ones there is for opiates. 8mg doses aren’t even made in other countries because it’s been deemed to high. Europe only allows 3.5/4mg per dose if I remember correctly. It can be a god send for sure, but it’s still a cousin to anyone who’s on it true problem. Arguably, with more problems in some ways.

No. I was terrified i would lose the new job of a lifetime. Imagine, How to explain to an employer or worse yet, never hearing from again (they have 15,000 employees). Got a call , "hello, please go to clinic XYZ , give them this form, The test (COVID protocol) Has no interview, or questions, Give a sample go home and wait for a call. Nobody in the HR gets the test results, so any mistake , its bye bye. Anyhow im in recovery for following my Dr. suggestions and getting on Tram for pain management. Worst decision I ever made.. Anyway i passed a six panel screen.

Here's one for you, why isn't the bupenorphine I AM prescribed not showing up in my urine tests? 2x now this has happened. I took one right before my drs appt even.

I don’t know legally and not sure if there is an answer. Part of answer is who wants to know and why? Hypothetical: sitting on shelf for a year then you start taking them then you get pulled over. Who knows! Depends on why you got pulled over, who and what jurisdiction and what DA wants to make of it. Not a lawyer but I suspect that is a good general answer.

You cannot get your CDL if you are on suboxone with a letter with a call they will not give it to you. You can be on pain pills and have a letter from your doctor and get your CDL but you cannot be on suboxone.

I take subtex religious tablets 3 times a day, and my doctor PA said she wants to take blood because she said it didn't show on urine test for several months now! What about 100 mg amitriptyline? I take 2 per day and I've been on this mess for about 7 years now and I hate it.. I've been taking it because I have electric shock like jolt feeling in my head that shoots down body when I lay down to go to sleep.. As soon as I get relaxed and it will do it everytime until I fall asleep.. if I get woken up from it 100 times well then it will do it 100 times... Drives me insane.. And sometimes it sounds like a shotgun going off... Anyway I hate taking these meds.. I wanna wing off of them, but I don't want to hurt myself doing so.. My Dr says to keep taking them but I'm done...

Is that the same as Tramadol ? If so I know a couple of people have seizures with that, but only if they have taken more than prescribed. They never mentioned the jittery feelings in their head tho . I know this post was awhile back but hopefully your better now.

There’s no difference if her doctor is giving you some thing or if somebody off the street is giving you something it’s still an opioid doesn’t matter where it comes from

@@-hunter5595 It’s definitely an opiate… It may not be the same type as what most people would consider one that’s abused like pain pills, or street dope, but nonetheless it is an opiate. Just because you don’t understand the differences doesn’t change that fact. Take it for a while & try to quit cold, & tell us it doesn’t make you sicker than a dog just like any other opiate withdrawal will. Most people who’ve been on the addict side, & the recovery side who have gotten off of all dope, & maintenance drugs about unanimously agree that coming off subs are way harder, & worse withdrawals. Even down to people that are just taking 1/16 of a 8mg pill. Don’t spread false information, & if you don’t know it to be true, just don’t speak. Your brothers best friends cousin isn’t the most reliable source for information..

I am just going to be honest. I have been on Suboxone and a benzodiazepine for going on nine years. Well, the benzodiazepine much longer., Since Hurricane Katrina. What I’m trying to figure out is now that they cannot write those two prescriptions together anymore. There’s many people, including myself that I know who have to unfortunately obtain it elsewhere. So if I go to my physician, who I love, and his very understanding, would he be able to help me with this letter that you were talking about or should I go a different route. It’s going to be very difficult to get off of one and or the other without any hiccups. It’s going to be very very difficult. Anyone who’s even in this comment section knows that. Please let me know what you think I look forward to hearing from you

Hey doc so I'm prescribed subs but my use is very minimal because I'm getting off of it I barely do 2 mg a day if that and I actually had my test today it's a five panel test I tried to get all the info I could to see if they test for that, everything that popped up said no but of course I'm worried sick about it, it is for the government position as a labor and usually government is cheap so I can't see them spending a lot on a multiple panel more than five so what's your take on it you think I'm safe also like to mention no one in my family or close friends knows I'm on it so I've been keeping it a secret for years

@kim nope that's complete and utter bs. If your not a weak minded individual and you actually intend on wanting to be clean and taper off of the drug it is not a horrible withdrawal at all. Its actually pretty simple. If you are abusive with them and really don't want to quit then yeah your going to convince yourself the withdrawal is horrible I've seen it in hundreds of people. You either want off or you don't and you'll make an excuse as to why you can't period. There is no third option. Stop making it out to be some sort of mountain with the fear mongering. Its not a horrible withdrawal at all if you are smart about it and taper off the drug.

If you've ever been addicted to heroin or fentynal as well, you will understand that the miniscule withdrawal of the strip is just that. There is the right way to do it and then there is the wrong way. Ive seen people absolutely abuse those things and run out early of the medication crying about the withdrawal pain. Ive also seen people who were smart and chose to be done and follow simple rules like tapering off of them and the withdrawal was absolutely nothing terrible whatsoever. Its 99% mental and if you go into it with a defeatist attitude and that of a victim, yeah its going to be horrible. If you chose to do it the right way its minimal. I've seen it for over a decade in patients and I've also had experience with it. You sound like someone who pounds their entire prescription down their mouths within the first week and then cry about the horrors of the withdrawal. Then again everyone is different. You can't just simply make a.vague statement like "the withdrawal is horrible". Like I said, it depends on the person ENTIRELY.

@JM it depends on the type of test. Is it urine? If so are they doing an extended test? Usually urine tests by.employers are the typical 5panel ones and don't have bupenorphine on it as one. If its a rehab OR Court ordered yes you will fail. They use the 12 panels and extensive tests. If its a saliva and you don't take them habitually, you should be fine if its just a pre employment screening. They usually don't want to spend money on extensive tests even if their sending to a lab its just the usual thc, amphetamine, barb, opiates-excluding what were talking about, coc. So it depends on the test and who is giving you one.

Hi Dj, This can potentially be a gray area. It is not only an issue of the law depending on your local, but the social environments that you live in. I would make sure I have a very supportive doctor and clinical team that are willing to write letters on your behalf.

If your job wants to fire you for being prescribed an opiate for any reason i would honestly just quit and put in my two weeks. Shows more about them than it does you. Remember that! Suboxone is an opioid like any other. But if you are worried about this i would ask your doctor if switching to just buprenorphine by itself is an option. Buprenorphine is used for pain management, not addiction, in manyyyy other countries outside of the US. So it looks better than Suboxone.

No, I mean what industry and what state. Because it depends if they specifically test for it. Also, depending on your specifics you can get a note from your doc and come clean

@@museamit if I was u I'd get kratom. U already on a low dose. I got off methadone with kratom. I tapered low then next day I got on kratom. I've been using it for 2 months.now I'm reducing my dose. Withdrawals from kratom last a week and they mild compared to opiates

I take suboxone and passed a dot urine test in driving school but due to some other complications I have been swapped to a company that does hair follicle and they strictly do not allow any suboxone use. But I'm having a hard time finding if suboxone is included in test. Should I assume it is? I'd rather go another route but I've been in this school for 3 weeks and on last week and will loose funding if I don't take employment with their second of only two companies

how about swab test or salaiva test guyz. will it show up. please help me my work place does salaiva test they put a lolly type thing inside the mouth ask to put in for 2-3 minuts and puts that stick back to a small jar where is says positive negative or invalid. you guyz know anything about this type of test pls pls helpme guyz

@@museamit these tests are sensitive. There are videos showing how to beat it. Get a script. Best thing you can do. I do know buprenorphine half life is unbelievable. It can stay in your system up to 30 days after last taken.

Im in trouble and im going to be honest.I was taking a very low amount of suboxone each day.To be exact,1mg out of the 8mg strip,but i gotta take a drug test that will test for subs and i only been off for 4.5 days and even that tiny amount i don't think will be gone and the past 4 days ive been working out,but sweating and water won't help.im done.

I think most drug test it will not show up as an opioid like oxycodone and it has to be a drug test for suboxone.

I have a legitimate prescription and I think it's amazing but for some reason I need ADHD medicine and psychiatrist nowadays have a problem with prescribing me my Adderall because I have ADHD as well and I need it to go to school with right now it's hard I think I found one and then now he's not in my network so I need to find another one and they say they have a problem with prescribing those to combine I believe because when they dropped me they didn't tell me why and it's only reason I could think of and that's another thing that brings me down and makes me want to get off the hospital so that I can continue doing my schooling but I'm going to need it because I'm aware that it's for long term suboxone and better is my life all the way around I don't ever want to fall back on an opiates that's for sure so now I'm having trouble finding it inside purchase and then I think to myself should I be honest to the psychiatrist but I have to because I need a referral so it's a big mess I'm in Houston Texas if you could help me out or guide me I have private insurance Blue Cross and Blue shield I know it can be done I don't understand why it's a problem all of a sudden I'm really trying to just be a healthcare provider take care of my sinors and graduate to be a certified nurse assistant if you have any direction you can plant me to or I don't know if I need a therapist counselor psychiatrist nurse practitioner psychologist I don't know but it's always a problem because I'm on my Suboxone and I really need both medications and people look at me funny I don't know I feel like they're judging me because they take me and they give me my prescription without a problem for like one or two years and then all of a sudden it's a problem
