Yet another brilliant instalment in this series by Amr Waked. Each passing episode makes me so happy that Al Jazeera took this project on. Very well made, thoroughly entertaining, and frustratingly thought-provoking. This particular episode struck a chord with me as it gently brushed upon my very notion of reality/existence/Truth. That God is an artist, Reality a canvas, the Universe a musical masterpiece playing out through Time. Complete with preludes, high points, tragedies, triumph, and what I ultimately believe will be a bittersweet ending. Everything is going according to God's plan for His artistic creation. Learnt about vibrations from physics class in school, and always believed they were singing to the tune set by God - singing praises in the form of hamd - and all that was revealed as sinful or evil was done so because it was discordant with God's musical masterpiece (or vice versa?), but somehow still part of the Perfect whole in the end. Even J.R.R. Tolkien wrote about something very much like this in his lore about Middle Earth's universe. He called it "The Music of the Ainur" or "The Great Song" as composed from the theme and thoughts of Eru Iluvatar (the One God). I shall end on that note. 😊

In early 20th century infamous Alistair Crowley called musicians to use backmasking as a method to code secret messages in lyrics and music. It's a matter of fact that many artists in 60s and 70s followed that idea and were inspired by Crowley. We are now 100 years later and these methods would have developed for sure.

Music is not about which group one wants to be with. There's only one group. One of the evil "rewards" of standardized A 440 is that it creates a separate "group". There was nothing wrong with the "A 432" tuning. It didn't need fixing! "Fixing" just puts people on different tracks, paths, roads. Divide & conquer. It's a tiny, tiny thing, but it separates millions of people. A signpost of good is "to unify and not divide".

Complete body/organ muscle relaxation. Concentration on slowing heartbeat, breathing and blood flow. Meditation on the chosen subject or object. Astral projection. I like to listen to white noise that is barely audible. But there are definitely musical additions you can make to this process. Bells, flutes and chimes can be effective. There are musicians now making music specifically for meditating. There are also a lot of "space music" proponents who say it helps with concentration. As long as you are not distracted by the music it should be fine and it should help you relax. In other words keep the music simple.

There are rules but then there are no rules [ cue: Slide Guitar with tremolo ].
