    You are nothing near what you could still yet be. Strive for the highest conceivable good you can imagine and start going there. Don't ever think for one second that you're fine the way you are. It's a compliment from me, of the highest order, to tell you that you could be so much more than you are. You are nobody and you know nothing. What I'm really saying is, you have the entire journey to yet enjoy. Learn. Grow. Don't just feel satisfied with what you are now. The first thing you need to do is start asking the right questions. What kind of absolutely idiotic things are you doing still that were you to discontinue them, would add tremendous value to the journey. Endure the discomfort of wanting things to be better. Because it means you recognize they are not yet good. In that, you will find the meaning of your life. Assign the meaning through the burden of terrific responsibility. Carry the most you possibly can, and see what happens ❤

    @@billyc2572 I agree with some of your responses...but, not all. If you don't acknowledge how far you have come...you aren't feeling the gratefulness of the paths taken. Striving to be better is a concept some take on laboriously...you need balance. Being present and feeling at peace, is appreciating the now. No one has the right to judge others, how they find their direction or path..it's an individual's choice, of course. Enjoying every step on the journey...while feeling satisfied with your growth...if you don't...you will be making a huge mistake. Life is not a race...but, a journey of experiences that awaken you with each step, while accepting the gifts and blessings awarded for your efforts. Through these experiences...you will find your purpose, if you listen. It's not how much you carry...it's what you carry.♥

    When you are still in the habit of thinking about how far you have come or what you have achieved etc your still in the mindset of goals, there is nothing to gain and there is nothing to achieve you just need to realise and to wake up to what you actually are and not what you think you are, forget your past and your childhood because that's just memory, dont worry about tomorrow because that's not even happened yet.....just be absolutely nothing and still and just watch as awareness ❤

    “The art of spiritual healing - Joel Goldsmith”

  • @paulbrandon422
    @paulbrandon422 Жыл бұрын

    I first came across the teachings of Joel Goldsmith in the 1980s. He was a Christian nondual teacher & healer with roots in Christian Science. As Eckhart said he cured many people through the art of spiritual healing, often without ever meeting them or even knowing their condition. He didn’t believe in long periods of meditation, recommending instead more frequent shorter bouts of just a few minutes. He would often begin by saying “speak Father, Thy servant heareth” and then adopt a listening attitude, not necessarily expecting a verbal response but a “click” as he called it or a sense of Presence. Eckhart seems to have a high regard for his teachings as he has referred to them on a number of occasions.

    Hadn't thought of Joel Goldsmith in years, but like you I found him in the early '80s and studied his books and teaching for many years. It was wonderful to hear Eckhart refer to him and once again I was taken into that incredible simplicity of our all-encompassing pure Reality that can heal not only our sicknesses but every other ill or problem in our life because on the most fundamental and real level, they don't exist.

    Move from petitious prayer to pointer that goes beyond concept. You can use affirmations like I AM the light of the world. Duality is implied in usual prayer, you and God. That duality is an illusion. God and you are one. Deepest prayer is a listening attitude rather than saying. Affirmation can be beautiful if used correctly. I am holy. I am healed. I am at peace. Then pay attention to the space after affirmation. The power is in the space. In the space you are made whole, regardless of outward appearance. Hold the image of the sick person, you go deep within to see the wholeness of the person in the formless. You take form into the formless. You don't ask God for healing. Listen to God instead, meaning pure attention. That is true prayer. Silence is enough. You are not waiting for answer. Listening prayer. Listening is relaxed alertness, receptivity, alert presence. Listening is beyond auditory perception or waiting. The servant waiting for the master to come home. Jesus says stay awake. Use prayers to point to consciousness. I am listening. Thanks Eckhart. 9 April 2023.⚽️🌴🌛🎈✡👍🎈

    @Lucy in the Sky I don't have don't have a religion.. The only thing I have faith in is humanity. I said sounds like witchcraft. I didn't say it was witchcraft. There's a difference. What does this have to do with judgments? Nothing. Besides, what does it say about prayer. Prayer 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, 10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation,[a] but deliver us from the evil one.[b]’ 14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

    @Lucy in the Sky when you tolerate too much, you stand for nothing. Let live effects all life. Not understanding true purpose in something has consequences. Humans truly don't care, just an act. Pointing out a mistake in the way they misuse prayer ain't for fun. Be a warrior where a warrior is needed. This ain't the place. So, pretty much our conversation is irrelevant. Since you go by, "let live," but here we are chatting. Entertaining. The problem, humans do the opposite in what their told, like from the good book

    Eckhart - you are absolutely correct again in everything you say. I am a man of absolute Faith, but I do not pray to God because I've realised that in life we don't really know what would be best for us and I trust Him to know this for me - and he does: I now have total fulfilment and contentment in my life and I do not suffer from any fears, anxieties or depression. I have a spiritual guide who 'tells' me what to do each day (normally by some sort of unlikely coincidence or my intuition, and this post is part of today's guidance). We all must deeply understand why Jesus cursed the fig tree and we should all follow the Guidelines of Problacism. If I did pray, however, my prayer would be St Ignatius's prayer: 'Teach us, good Lord, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will'. Amen

    Once I understood that I am Consciousness, or a pixcel of God Consciousness, united, not divided, I realised that by asking God for something, as we think we can by praying, it meant that I was returning to divisive thinking - that God is up there somewhere & I'm down here, which is divisive & according to ET, not the case at all. I wondered then, if ET thought it was worth praying & if he did, how does he maintain the Unity? If I was on the right track, he'd have some idea of how to pray & maintain the unity. His acknowledgement that prayer is still possible & how we ought really to be praying, is actually ground-breaking, & very powerful in a good way, for us all, if it works. It would also prove that he is not "just another false prophet."

    Find out who is praying, who is asking, who is begging for help. Eventually you will realize you are not the one praying, YOU ARE THAT WHICH IS AWARE of that person praying or wanting to pray for something. Abide as silent Awareness, that is the highest and most effective prayer. There is no asking, no expectations.....let the presence the awareness do what it wants to do. The other option is to ask using your mind (ego), the very thing that has caused your suffering. At some point there must be a realization that "the person" really does not know what is best or that we make the mistake of asking for the wrong things because we are finite limited, or that we "the person" is not the do'er, instead trust presence or awareness to do whatever, complete trust and surrender...

    I agree. I think most prayer is either rote (going through motions; formulaic; ocd consistency in practice) and/or rejection of what is (asking for reality to be different). Giving thanks for food about to be consumed (or for anything that could be worse, non-existent) is good. Maybe the stereotypical child's prayer to protect [list of names] is good (but still implies "I'm not ok with that other reality if it happened. I'll take it personally that you rejected my prayer."). I went through a christian period where I thought I was being quite self-sacrificing to admit I needed saving. But, it was all a cop-out (deferring responsibility onto someone else; ultimately blaming them for not getting the job done). The ego is so strange. You'd think acknowledging the humble "sinners prayer" would be pure proof that you've shed your ego. But, then it turns into a new ego ("I'm saved. God's working on me. Something's happening for a reason.") Then constant moaning to God about how unsatisfactory this all is. He needs to get with it. It's not me. It's him. I invited him into my life, in the name of... Why does he grudge me? Another unsolvable puzzle I'm engaged in, narrating to myself. It's weird how the "hard admission" (of my nature) wasn't that hard. The hard part was "I'm doing it to myself. I'm the only one who can differentiate that."

    @@markfuller You've done much introspection. There is no separate God, no separate entity, no persons, these are all illusions created by the mind. If I were to use the word God I would suggest to all to change their concept of God. The traditional concept is just a concept, an illusory thought like everything else we perceive. What is reality is pure awareness or consciousness itself. All thoughts are illusory that create our dream like drama, even the idea that we need to pray. At some point, all thoughts, all ideas, all concepts must be dropped (including the idea of I, me, my, you, and God). All that remains is the only thing that has been constantly with you always AWARENESS. It is permanent, unmoving, eternal. That is the real you. It does, not ask, does not think or analyze, it just is. That real you is also no other than the same awareness that is "God", Christ, Budhha, any and every saint that ever lived, the same consciousness that is all people, all life....the human mind just makes it appear that you are separate. BUT YOU ARE THAT WHICH you ARE PRAYING to. That Which is aware in you, that which knows YOUR every experience is no other than the "God" you seek.

    Prayer practice as chanting and adoration of the Divine (Bhakti Yoga) Not to get external results but to be closer to God, to open your heart to Presence, to merge in love. For example the practice of Gregorian Chant or other forms of singing are very powerful, they include devotion and at the same time the vibrations of sound through your whole body by singing. It doesn’t need to be loud or artistic like a performance but you need to enjoy. Is also a great balance to the spiritual reflective path of discernment and reading of spiritual books.

    There is an anonymous saying: “It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude. It’s gratitude that brings us happiness.“ If you look around yourself right now (or look within) listen for a surge of gratitude. Or even a little trickle. Breathe in. Let your shoulders drop as you exhale. When it comes to you, note it here.

    even though I am a great fan of Tolle, I disagree with him on this matter. Prayer has its place on spiritual path, and there are so many beings at the other side that hear the prayer and try to arrange things for the better. I know he talks about the ultimate awakening there, but if one needs to pray to God, just pray, he will listen, the universe listens.

    The idea of prayer could be that words & thoughts focus & crystallise energy into creation... So when directed with intent, from a place of gratitude, appreciation, love & compassion (high energy / vibration), prayer could be considered.a tool for connecting with our Higher Self (or one's idea of God / Allah etc.) and manifesting towards the idea of aligning to our path / higher vibration.
