My boy turned 5 recently. During Covid when my wife was pregnant with our second child, he had unusual long amounts of screen time. We took him to a clinic when he was three and a half and they diagnosed him with mild ASD. He's been in speech therapy since. After almost a year and few months of minimal progress, I came across the concept of virtual autism and became aware of all the screen time he had and how his behaviour had changed over time and not something that was seen from the beginning. I immediately enforced a no-screentime rule for him and he's been on an exponential recovery for the past couple of months as testified by his speech therapist. He has picked up an interest in books, although he's just flipping through the pages at present. But he still has a lot of behavioral issues and sound sensitivity and eye contact problems. Also he has trouble holding a pencil. Do you think OT might help him with his eye contact and sound sensitivity issues?

Screen plus isolation was the cause. So both need to be removed.

Dear Ma'am, my child has been watching TV since he was 10 months old to 2.5 years old, almost a full day up to sleep. Is it the result today that he still has not developed language, ( he is verbal, can count, knows all colors, animals & follows simple instructions ) now he is exactly four years old. he is always engaged with us and very interested in children & people. very good eye contact, good social smiles, responds to name calls & no restrictive behaviors. For nearly 10 months now we have been sending him to the intervention center, we fully engaged with him, but still, we think this is due to the excessive screen time. we did an assessment when he was 2.9 years old & the score was 12 at high risk in M-chat. but recently I Checked with M-chat ( now he is 4 years old) and the score is 1 and it is low risk for ASD. pls, give your comments & advice
