Does CBD Stop Pain? How CBD Oil Affects Chronic Pain and Inflammation by Thomas DeLauer

DOES CBD STOP PAIN? Inflammation is simply a response to any kind of trauma or any kind of immune event in your body, where your body needs an immune response. Okay, we have two different kinds, acute and chronic.
Acute is the kind that you probably know about. When you bump your elbow, when you get a scratch or a cut, and it gets swollen. It gets swollen and red, that's simple inflammation.
Then, we have chronic inflammation. It's the inflammation that's occurring in our body all the time, really. It's constantly happening. Sometimes, it's worse than other times. This has to do with the fact that our cells become actually sick and we trigger and immune response, and then it cascades into this vicious circle, where the immune system responds even more, and more, and more, yielding to chronic inflammation.
Cytokines are signaling proteins that ultimately recruit inflammation to happen. Cytokines will trigger specific immune cells to release inflammation or actually even reduce inflammation, when given the right circumstances.
When we get down to CBD, CBD actually modulates the cytokine production. It works on cytokine production with very specific cells though. Since we don't want to get rid of all the cytokine activity, we do want to get rid of it with specific things. So, very specific immune cells that overactive that are causing inflammation in our joints all the time or causing inflammation in our brain, they can be become reduced with the instance of CBD being in the equation, simply because now we have all the stimulation of these natural endocannabinoids to reduce that inflammation.
There's one specific area of the body that reduces cytokine activity that's exceptionally important, and that's when it comes down to T helper cells. If you ever heard of T cells before, then you know that there are two kinds. There are helper cells and there are killer cells. The helper cells travel around the body and they slap a label on anything that is potentially bad. That label allows the killer T cells to come by later and designate that to be killed. Basically, has a label, and now the killer T cell goes ahead and it kills it, so they're working in tandem, a two part equation here.
What CBD does is it limits the cytokine activity of these helper T cells, meaning they are not as activated in a bad way. If you have overactive T cells, T helper cells, they're going to run around your body, running rampant, slapping a label on everything, triggering inflammation and triggering killer T cells to come around and start an attack on things that don't need to be attacked. You can see how this can lead to a massive amount of chronic inflammation leading to joint pain, brain fog, digestive discomfort, all kinds of different things.

Thank you for all these great videos on CBD. I have a family member that was diagnosed with cancer just before summer. He lost a lot of weight and was in a lot of pain. I, having my own CBD business through my website started him on 750mg capsule bottle of CBD. In just 3 weeks he was sleeping with little to no pain and he was walking without the use of crutches. As of Oct 10 his doctors said they could not find ANY abnormalities in his chest where the cancer was and they are shocked. I'm not making any medical claims that CBD cured him of his cancer but since he started taking it his life has changed for the better. Thank God for his healing hands and CBD.

I am 80 years old and cannot use oral pain medications, over-the-counter or prescription. Fortunately the only pain I have is from two torn ligaments so I buy CBD in a balm form and that takes care of the pain. Mr. DeLauer does a good job of telling us how it works. Very technically though. Thank you.

Thank you. I have been in chronic pain for 11 years due to one fracture and 8 extruded discs in my back. I am trying to find ways that CBD, hemp, and Cannabis might help to help my body heal itself. After reading many professionals' advice that I should try a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio, I am beginning to grudgingly accept that I can't avoid the psychoactive effects of THC, I am looking for things to mitigate this effect. I am trying to use the stuff right before bed so I am not awake and "stoned". After 11 years taking the same dose of Norco and being at a 7-9 out of 10 level of pain, and missing out on so many levels of physical activity I used to enjoy, I am desperate. What you presented today is helping me to strategize a plan. I cannot go on living the way I have, but I refuse to give up. I thank you for doing this. I am so tired of waking up during the night in terrible pain and not wanting to take more Norco, and the cannabis has enabled me to sleep. I look forward to learning what I can. The pain specialists have suggested extended release morphine or phentanyl but I need my brain to function. Cannabis, CBD, etc. have given me hope. I have had thoughts of ending my life, but I do not want to do that for so many reasons. I am 63 and I want to do things to help myself and other people, not give up. It just gets so old and depressing at times, but I have dealt with so many health issues and I believe there are answers out there. I have gained 80 pounds since exercise has seemingly been impossible. I use a walker or electric cart, but I've started with hand weights recently. I am willing to try anything that may help. Intermittent fasting sounds good but the nutritionist says that would be terrible for me as I'm diabetic. I think she is dead wrong. Any way, I sincerely thank you. I've been following your channel for over a year and gotten a ton of help from what you say.

I feel your pain and was on the same road as you. CBD has changed my life. Try CBD that's 1500mg or higher and also try CBD lotion or cream. It's amazing on how fast it works. Try to get 250mg or higher. The stronger the better it works on chronic pain. Also try THC with high amounts of CBD in it. Good luck.

Intermittent fasting is best for brain health, else try vinegar. Fx 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in the morning, maybe in some porridge and 2 tablespoons in the evening, maybe in some juice or something else that'll get that sweet-sour effect. Don't mix it with salt, it cancels it's affect.

Thank you, haven't even finished watching yet either, 5:48 is where i left off. Kinda had a chuckle going when you completely explained in a bigger picture of how cells beginning to fight everything off for no reason, thus internally creating feelings as if the body is fighting off something. This has helped me in a multitude of ways, me and many many others I'm sure. Its a blessing to have folks like yourself explaining the WHOLE breakdown of it and not just "this binds to this and thats all there is to it." I don't know if my mind could ever go back to the way it was before this video...truly a gift to be able to stumble upon this video.

I have literally come >< this close to dying due to prescription medication that was supposed to help chronic pain. About 12 years ago, I took Celebrex. Four days in of taking it and I was doubled over in pain that was on the level of labor pains. It had caused a bowel blockage to start forming. Lyrica caused my blood pressure to go up insanely and caused my hands and feet to swell so bad that I felt like they were going to explode. Years of ibuprofen had me on the verge of an ulcer. I've researched CBD oil for about a year and I'm ready to try it.

Thank you so much for Educating Everyone on the Actual Breakdown of what CBD OILS are & how they Work. I want to share this with everyone in hopes that it might help someone else out there, because I know alot of people out there are experiencing similar situations right now. I apologize for the length of this comment. I just ordered CBD Oil for my Husband & I really hope it helps us get back to a Normal, atleast a Functional, Normal Life like we had before our debilitating Medical Issues (I had my R Hip replaced 24 yrs ago & my L Hip has been desperately needing the same for about 8 years now but, he's Disabled now & can't work, so I take care of him & so, No Insurance & not looking too good for any in the near future either). I especially hope & pray that it helps my Husband who suffers from Severe Pain & Nerve Damage Pain caused by a Botched Back Fusion Surgery 6 years ago & they damaged the nerves as well. I think the Nerve Damage is the Majority of the Pain though & it is a Constant Everyday that keeps him from being able to do just about anything for very long. He has been taking High Doses (up to 6 30mg Roxicodones per day, most days) of Opiods Everyday since before his Surgery & those things make Everything Worse, especially when you are trying to cut back on them like he is. Getting Off Medicine is the reason that he had the Surgery in the first place & it wound up making Everything 10 times worse, Literally! I feel sooo sorry for him. He's not a Suicidal Person but, he said that if the Government takes the only medicine that Just Reduces his pain away from him then he couldn't Live with the pain (even wouldn't & we All know what that means. I hate to even think about it) & his Doctor just Terminated him as a Patient & I believe it's because of the medicine & the Liability that comes with it (he's the one that prescribed it & got him Addicted to it in the first place & it's the only thing, out of everything, that he has tried that even Semi-Reduces his pain) so, now he has no Pain Medicine once he runs out of what he has left & that is why I am desperately hoping CBD oil will help him with the Pain & soon, with the Withdrawal Symptoms, because he's got a Rough Road Ahead of him (mine not going to be too damn good at that time as well) when he runs out of that HORRIBLE MEDICINE! Believe it or not, that is the Short, Cut Down Version. Thank you for your time & I truely hope this helps someone out there. I will try to Update people soon on how the CBD Oil is working out.

Great video explaining. We are firm believers in CBD and currently my 13 year old son takes it as well as myself. He suffers from migraines and I think I have the dosage amount under control for him, but I am still trying to figure out my correct dosage amount. I recently was diagnosed with DDD (degenerate disc disease). I have always been an active person but this I believe is within my family genes. Awaiting a CT scan ad nerve testing as I believe that my disc is pressing now only nerve as I have pain down my right arm through to my elbow especially and starting to get numbness/tingling in my pinky finger. We both are taking a full spectrum 750mg CBD dominant oil. We are both taking roughly 1.0 ml which form reading the bottle thats about 15mg of CBD oil. I think I need more but I find that getting the right dosage amount information online difficult.

HI! Hope you can answer this for me. So I understand you are saying that CBD does not directly affect the CB1 and CB2 receptors, and that CBD simply helps us make more of our own endocannabinoids. My question is, then, do our own natural endocannabinoids affect the CB1 or CB2 receptors directly?? Or do they simply increase anandamide, the Bliss Molecule, and THAT is what affects the receptors in all of the systems of the body (i.e., circulatory system, skeletal system, endocrine system, etc)?

Best pain relief for chronic pain, is called the entarauge affect. I use cbd first wait 30 mins, take 2 riffs off bong and get better relief then cbd by itself. Just for me, maybe not for you. But I've had chronic pain from 5 failed back surgeries, been on all the pain pills. FOR MEE, it works best if used in conjunction with some good India. As I said this is what works best for ME.

@Badams63 Adams I have autoimmune arthritis & my back/hips are the worst (anklyosing spondylitis) & I've grown tired of the hoops & hurdles pain management is putting us all through thx to the DEA & new guidelines. I was finally stable & doing well but they recently cut my meds by 2/3 so I'm right back to suffering with no alternatives being offered. I've tried CBD with mixed results. It mostly made me sleepy. I struggle with fatigue so I stopped taking it. Do you recommend a specific brand of CBD? Do you simply buy weed from a trusted source for those bong riffs you mentioned? I'm not being a smart ass either. I'm dead serious 😐 I'm desperate & tired of feeling bad. I'll take any legitimate advice I can get.

Without risk of any addiction . If this is true whats a good dose to start at ? I'm 53 and was Athletic for many yrs so have plenty of aches and pains it should help with as well .

So does it matter if it's full spectrum CBD or pure? I've read before that only CBD-A is able to reduce pain. Problem is there is less CBD-A in a full spectrum product than THC, which by law has to be less than .3%. I take 80mg full spectrum once or twice a day for degenerative disk in my Cspine. It helps, but doesn't eliminate.

Michael, unfortunately not all CBD products are created equally. This main thing to look for is the lab test results. These are called COA's Certificates of Analysis. These labs show the breakdown of the purity of the oil. This also shows fillers, toxins, mold and mildew plus a whole lot of metals and chemicals. Another thing you can look at is the list of ingredients what type of carrier oil is being used to work and distribute the CBD in your body. I use a fat soluble brand and have had great results beyond what I even believed possible. If, you have any other questions let me know. Thanks!

@@keithcheney7919 Typically, according to research that I have done via never lying Google, anything labeled "Hemp" will NOT help with inflammation as it tends to be made from the industrial "Hemp " plant and has ZERO medicinal purpose other than omega 3 and 6. Stick with CBD oil not Hemp oils.

Cluanar, you may have your information I have my personal experiences. The brand I use has a trace amount of THC and it works for me. My brand IS from the Hemp plant and is put back into cold hemp seed oil for its carrier oil. I have had many customers tell me their issues of discomfort, hurt and inflamed parts of their bodies are not effecting them the same way. The common denominator is my brand of Hemp CBD. I appreciate your input however I disagree with you. I know my product is one of the purest and safest products on the market, I am so confident in my beliefs and base it on the 60 day money back guarantee on an empty bottle. This brand is no joke!

You can also put CBD tincture oil on any place on your body. Now I'm using CBD cream areas that hurt for my feet all the way to my head. CBD oil well last about 2 weeks if used every 4 hours 1/4 of the medicine dropper. I hope this helps you You. If you have any more questions let me know. Take care. Sincerely Arnold Bourbon Amaral
