I appreciated this but wonder how those with chronic illness or quadriplegia or mental illness feel hearing, “If you’re sick, you’re not living an abundant life.” It’s important to remember that Jesus said He came to give abundant life … to everyone. Many have found purpose and service … in the midst of living with broken bodies and minds.

So it’s an individual choice/ decision. If they believe they can be delivered, and if God says no then they can be content. But in the Bible I see Jesus healing everyone but I see your point.

Many people say the Thief on the Cross next to Jesus was not Baptized in water in Jesus Name yet Jesus told him he would be with Him that day in Paradise. When the thief was on the cross (Matthew 27:38, Luke 23:39, Mark 15:27-43) Jesus had not yet given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in his NAME. Jesus said in Mark 16:16, "He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be Saved, he that believes not shall be damned." At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19, "Go therefore go and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not names) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time Jesus disciples baptized any one in water they invoked Jesus Name at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 22:16 Paul's Baptism). Jesus did not give the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in his Name until later after he rose from the dead and just before he ascended into heaven. The thief or anyone else at that time could not have been baptized in Jesus Name because they did not know about it.
