Dreamcatchers story is quite a crazy one, they’ve been through so much and I’m so so happy to see where they’re at now. They just got to the 1 million albums sold club and that’s insane considering that they’re from a smaller company. I’m glad that they were able to grow past Minx (which was a horrible time for them) and now they’re doing a lot better, couldn’t be anymore proud of them. Especially since they FINALLY got their 1st win in 2022, it seemed like it gave them a huge boost of encouragement that they reallyyyy needed, I mean just imagine having been in the industry for years and getting loss after loss, that definitely would loose confidence and encouragement. You know, whatever the answer may be I’ve always wondered what would have happened to them as a group if they never got that win, and it was always scary to think about. Especially with seeing their relief and pure emotions coming out when they got their win, you can see how important the win was for them. So, I’m always the most grateful that Dreamcatcher finally got that win, and they even have 4 now! And they even renewed their contracts so I’m happy to see that they are content with where they’re at right now🥹

I really agree with the impact of that winning impact When a group wins on the show, there are a lot of possibilities for growth, including money as a prize, an invitation to other shows, and so many opportunities. But the controversy really kills it all. Also when we talk about the KPop, there is a limited time and chance. One missed opportunity can really ruin so much Not only for Dreamcatchers that miss the pace to run but also EVERGLOW. That "fake winning" controversy does really bad to the girls and simply shuts their game to this day. The people behind that issue really success in killing two birds with a single stone

If you guys want Reason to hit even harder, may I suggest watching insomnicsy's 'Road to Fame', a video for their 6th anniversary. It's a little long and has some spoilers for their solo songs but hits like a truck in terms of feels lol. It sets up Reason quite nicely IMO.

Finally! 😉 Many thanks for your reaction of this video which does not just list each comebacks title track but takes a look what is actually going on at the same time of a comeback including additional details about tours, etc! I think this is important to really get an idea what they all went through. The funny pieces added to the MIXNINE "explosion", like the "GOT scene + Dreamcatcher's Lucky Strike cover playing in the background (🤣) and the management meeting ("Give JiU a big f***ing sword") make me laugh every time. I don't know how many times I've already watched this video but I still missed the "Greedy" display section from MIXNINE! Good catch... this was intentional! 😅 Also the "1st win" issue is addressed. There are also some additional videos around (2-3) that take a closer look at the comment from the members (adding some vlives, etc.) how often they wished to be "on top" / "have a music show win". I think everyone following DC for some time can agree that without the Maison 1st win the contract renewal wouldn't have happened. It's pretty obvious that after this win (skipping the initial reaction when it happened...that's obvious too) that they seem to be more relaxed, confident and happy. The rock dragging them down was finally out of the way. In 10 days I'm again able to see Dreamcatcher live....after a 6 day concert marathon which started ~two weeks ago (2x Rolling Quartz + 1x Everglow). I little bit off-topic... Meeting the RQ members was great but is was still pretty rushed so there wasn't really time to talk much with the members even though it was a small group. I was barely able to get a DC related information from Yeong Eun (many thanks!) while getting my album signed. I missed the opportunity to ask the members/Manager Han (he was quite busy helping to pack all the equipment together, etc.) if there is anything we RQ/DC fans can do to make an on stage collab happen. They were all very nice, relaxed and seem to have a great time. Arem did throw multiple of her guitar picks into the crowed at both concerts and Iree was our little sunshine (as expected but still incredible to see/experience this live). During the high touch event (it was for "everyone") I had the impression she might start to hug everyone that was there. Jayoung's live voice was incredible and Hyunjung was also very impressive...I really liked the small solo parts and the back a forth with Arem. As for Everglow... no hard feelings that they got that first win...they also have a ton of problems to fight and I love most of their songs. I had a great time at their concert too. I was somehow not prepared for Aisha ...she really used every second for the interaction with the crowd and maknae Yiren was also very cute and received a lot of gifts (she even got a backpack from the crowd to put all the stuff into 😂).

🖐️🤚🤘how about Scream?? I’m so glad you guys have finally reacted to this… I still get minor PTSD from “the sh*t show incident” everytime I watch this, but things are bright for DREAMCATCHER now so it doesn’t matter anymore. Can’t wait for you to react to other DREAMCATCHER videos!!!

I'm so glad I watched this with you guys, I'm learning new stuff about them everyday that makes me fall in love with them even more. Their story makes me just as mad as Ateez's. It's unfortunate that groups outside of the big three can have such a hard time no matter how talented they are. From what I've seen lately these girls, it feels like, are now killing the game. Their recent songs and albums have been getting more and more attention and im so happy for them because they deserve it. I never thought they would of had a hard time because before I even got into them, I had songs of theirs on my Spotify Playlist and their music genre is so different and refreshing.

🏹Mera's video is obviously great, and it's sad that she's seemingly left KZread having not made a video for over a year now. Her narrative sense is excellent, but I'd make a couple of notes. First note that Love Shake was released in July, 2015 and Chase Me was released in January, 2017. This video kinda glosses right over that nearly year and a half before Dreamcatcher was announced. That period was a very tough time for the members of Minx as they went back essentially to being trainees. And it also should be noted that Dreamcatcher's 2nd win for Maison was from The Show, and so if there were shady behind-the-scenes things happening with the scoring for the Deja Vu promotions at The Show, whatever those forces may have been were not present at that particular music show 2 and a half years later. Should you wish to get the full impact of Reason, it would be good for you watch the coverage of the first win for Maison (the MV for which you've already covered). I'd probably go, in order, 🏆 DREAMCATCHER 1ST WIN / 드림캐쳐 첫1위 🏆by Insomicsy, the actual (and best performance ever of Maison) post win performance [쇼챔 1위] 4월 셋째 주 챔피언송 드림캐쳐 앵콜 Full ver. from ALL THE KPOP, and then (ENG) [Dreamcatcher's Note] 'MAISON' 활동 비하인드 4편 from Dreamcatcher Official. Yeah, the Dreamcatcherstory is a truely epic one, it is just insane how they mastered all these obstacles. 😴🪤

Some more information. At some point after, The Show stated that the youtube information on their site was inaccurate so the video score was supposedly correct on the episode. Although the real suspect Expert Preferences score was the biggest fraud since they needed 12 points to win and you can't tell me they deserved a zero out of 1500 score. While it's not Everglow's fault, their company is another story... plus 4 months after an Everglow member was announced as a co-host for The Show... hmmmmm. Suss. The so-called mocking tweets is not exactly accurate either. The following week or so The Show was broadcasting from a festival that the were either running or were a big sponsor for. Tweets for that festival were coming out for each artist but for some reason the photos used for just Dreamcatcher were shoddy poorly cut out amateur hour photoshop work. People were even posting their quick 100 times better versions. These were promotions for the Festival and while they definitely were in bad form, I'm not sure you can attribute that to The Show. Fans were taking everything as a sleight against them, understandably. It was a crazy time. We all were absolutely bombarding the show's twitter for weeks and trying to get some mainstream news attention, but were pretty much ignored and never directly acknowledged. As many have speculated, after suing YG there seemed to be more barriers to success in the industry with suss behavior conveniently when Dreamcatcher would be having a comeback. Numerous time show rules would change just before DC's appearance negatively affecting the value of international fans (which is a very large part of InSomnia) and then conveniently changing the rules back after thei comeback in 1 or 2 cases. Then there were shows cancelled entirely. Let's just say we're not exactly trusting of any of these music shows and especially not The Show where we now have 2 wins with. They had to finally get rid of the Expert Preferences category, which this whole thing may have influenced. Funny thing with this video is it was made just before Dreamcatcher started on their way to their biggest successes with Scream being the following comeback.

🥒🤾‍♀️🤺 I was already in deep with Dreamcatcher when I first saw Dodging Disbandment, but I knew NOTHING about Minx then. 🤯🤯🤯 It was like finding out Mother Superior had been a Playboy centerfold ... or maybe vice versa. 😉

Oh here is a pov of someone (me) who has been around since almost the beginning... the mixnine thing is the only thing i dont agree 100% with this video. And the reason is... im brazilian and im 100% sure the brazilian tour was already confirmed since august even before it was announced they would be going to mixnine. And also during the broadcast, it was clear mixnine was a commercial failure (probably why it was canceled) and dc wasnt getting much screentime (apart from performances they would show up for like 3 minutes per episode). So the fandom was kinda angry... most of us hated mixnine, we felt like dc were the most popular people in there yet mixnine were paying them dust. And then they dropped off, and we were kinda happy. Some of us especulated it was already arranged. Yg and happyface had agreed on letting them go from the show and thats why their screentime was so off, yg wouldnt wanna waste it in trainees that they knew werent making to the final. And about the lawsuit... at that time yg was un trouble with the burning sun scandel and we think they were kinda wasting lawyers and money with happyfaces tiny issue instead of putting them to use to get away from the burning sun mess. So we especulated at the time that they did pay happyface to drop the lawsuit quietly and end the issue once and for all. Also about what happened after dejavu well handong went off to china and covid f-ed everything for everyone. Promotions were weird, short staffed and not many awards were held, lots of music shows were canceled, poor dongie got stuck in china and dc onlt got to have comebacks when the competition was packed. But we finally got it in 2022 with mason, and id highly recommend for you to react to videos regarding their 1st win. I think it kinda gives this one some closure in a sense😊

This is still a good video and I always love reactions but about 4 years later some details don't hold up that well and at points it's definitely a tad dramatic🙈great for baby InSomnia but if you know the behind some things aren't as bad as they sound. For example mera mentions that fans demanded new cbs and makes it sound like they were in the dungeon for years. But they basically had 3 (!) "cb" in their debut year (or 2 if you don't count the debut). Not only is that insane and I can't think of a lot of others doing that but their cb rate has been stable ever since with a cb every 6 to 7 months. In fact they're the only gg I think who consistently had 2 cb in a calendar year for 7 years now (not even counting Japanese releases). So at points like this she definitely took creative liberty towards the drama, and the first win section obviously doesn't look half as bad now that they have 4 wins and almost 5 years later after the drama. They also did need a breakout song like Scream and Boca but they were doing really well beforehand and consistently upping their sales regardless (in a pre-bulkbuying world). Just thought that this insight might be helpful. Also she did a follow up years later that's more focused on the music but that's actually a great video to watch in addition to this. Although in the end this is still one of THE videos every Insomnia has to watch😅 and it really explains Minx and why they failed really well. Also how they really always seem to get out of drama just before everything explodes😂

Happy to have found new insomnias. I know you guys are only just getting into girl groups but I highly recommend Everglow and (G)I-DLE. Everglow got me into girl groups, then I stumbled onto I-DLE and Dreamcatcher. It's a shame more isnt done with Everglow but their basement is almost as strong as SM & YG. Even so, their music still deserves a listen. I-DLE is an enigma and only has a little over a year left on their contract with CUBE. it's well known they all hate CUBE. There is very little that could make them resign. So you can always wait until then to get into them but I-DLE is similar to dreamcatcher in terms of trying many genres and succeeding by pure willpower. Anyway, can't wait for you guys to see the girls in concert when they come! It'll be my second time and it's magical!
