The Reds 6 thru 9 tonight have a lower combined average than the Dodgers 6 thru 9. Plus Reds have no hitters over .300, a DH under .200, and a leadoff shipped in from the minors. Ouch.

Fret not, Dodger fans. Every team will go through tough stretches. The Dodgers' record (33-22) is exactly the same as it was on May 29 of last year. They had a four-game losing streak in early June of last year, and in a two week stretch they lost 10 of 14. But you'll also remember the blazing August the Dodgers had last year. They went 23-5 and ended that month with the best record in Major League Baseball. Remember, nothing really matters until October.

Reds get a happy Moral Day weekend.

Dodgers have lost five games in a row. But they had a seven-game winning streak before this. Sure, the batting lineup is struggling right now, but these players are not the type to be done in by this. They are strong. They are talented. Even key players can have slumps. Right now, both the players and fans are having a tough time, but all we can do is keep supporting them.🔥😠🔥

@@justing42 I'm not confident that my previous answer fully addressed the question, but to conclude: "The batting average with runners in scoring position hasn't been good in recent games." According to MLBcom, the top hitters for the Dodgers, Ohtani and Freeman, had batting averages of .208 and .211 respectively over the past 7 days. This suggests that the probability of scoring in the first inning is quite low. Furthermore, the strikeout rate for the lower part of the lineup is high, particularly for Andy Pages at 40% and Enrique Hernández at 30%, indicating that the bottom of the lineup is struggling. Therefore, the players who should be hitting aren't, and those who are expected to struggle are indeed struggling, which contributes to the team's losses. Regarding pitching, the number of home runs allowed over the past 7 days has been high. While Yamamoto hasn't allowed home runs, he has given up many hits. However, I don't feel that the pitchers' performance overall has been poor based on the stats. The main issue is that the top of the order (1-5) isn't connecting well, and the bottom of the order (6-9) has a high likelihood of making outs. I believe the key to improvement lies in "raising the batting averages of the top of the order (1-5)" and "lowering the strikeout or ground out/fly out rates for the bottom of the order (7-9).

Friday he comes in and throws 1 strike in 13 pitches while hitting 2 batters and getting no outs loading the bases, and now he managed to hit 2 more batters. He's hit more batters than he has gotten outs in 2 games.
