Thank you!!!!!! My '06 3500 does this and I went to work cleaning all my battery connections (and swapping positions master to slave while I was at it). It didn't cure the voltage drop when cold. Then I found this and I am happy again. I don't know what "grid" heater is yet so that may be helpful to know. My truck doesn't usually get cold as I live in FL but the issue came up on a trip to Arkansas in December. Thank you!!!!!!

Great video thanks brother. I think you did a great explanation of why it does that. I never worried about it just let it warm up before you take off. I always got asked why I was just setting there after a cold start. I was waiting on some heat to get in the system unlike others start up and go. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother

Just found this video. My 2007 does the same thing. I really thought I had a bad alternator or voltage reg. these don't have great headlights anyway and having them go even dimmer always stresses me out. Next question would be about the brakes not wanting to stop when leaving my house. The first stop sign 100 feet from the driveways ok but the second a 1/4 mile up the road i step on the brakes and it slows but doesn't want to stop, it feels like I need to stand on the peddle to keep it from surging forward. Any ideas.

When it’s really cold My 2017 3500 does this to the point it will drop to 11 volts and sometimes go into battery save mode it’s so bad. Once the truck warms up all is fine.
