In 1965, I took a ride in a "monster" Power Wagon to go to school in a forest and mud area in the interior of Brazil. I have good memories of this wonderful machine.💪🇧🇷🇺🇸❤

I like how the guy drops one orange and instead of ignoring it he puts it back in the box. And stacks it up with pride. Something you just dont see nowadays

Cause they got paid by the crate. My grandparents were pickers back in those years. School would let out during the picking season. Working from sun up to sun down none stop. Had to be quick to fill up the bucket and not bruise the produce. Only got 5 cents per bucket back then so you had to be make sure to get every one to get your pay.

I kind of fell into the Dodge trucks because I collect M series Military trucks, to date I have restored 2 M37 Dodges and last year found a 1950 Power Wagon Civilian (my first) the truck had 18K original miles. That one is in process of a full frame off resto it will be put back to perfect original condition aside of being converted to 12 volt from 6 volt. Its going to be a beautiful truck when completed!

This comment is gold!! Exactly my friend, exactly! See, what most people of this new era forget and what has since unfortunately died, IS manufacturing of vehicles being genuine to their word/advertisements and made 101% without much B.S implicated in em. Pickups and semi’s were made for hard work and longevity throughout many moons, and most of these old rigs that were well taken care of may ride rough, but run almost better than the new era comfort shit. We (the U.S.A) sold out for all the foreign tech crap, cheap fiberglass and plastics, and forgot about the pride of hard-work and what trucks could be capable of doing + lasting the next 10+ years! We definitely have gone backwards throughout the generations. I feel after the 80s, trucks just became garbage, even look wise! Sure, I get how we need all the add-ons with cameras and sensors, and even luxury comfort these days with work trucks, cause the general public and all the people on the roads make traveling/towing more nerve racking, however... I’m good with no radio, bucket seats, no heater/A.C, and a loud rough engine with lots of torque to get the job done! Don’t need no fancy paint scheme either.

Great video and info!! My love for 4wheeling started at a young, young age, cause my Dad and Gramps were in the logging business up here in Northern California (where I grew up), so I was always around big rigs and 4wheelers of all kinds. But, my love for the Power Wagon really got burned into my heart when my Dad had a friend who owned a couple from the early 50s, I think they were ‘51s, and even though I would ride passenger.. lots of memories in it collecting relics in old mining/ghost towns, getting Christmas trees, and it was the first rig that I was in that concurred the infamous Fordyce Trail out here! They’re beasts and still look/hold up hella fricken good!

you can't put a new fwd truck what those old dodges could do. first, the axles were huge, the axle shafts half again as big, the knuckle seals were different than the dana 60's of today, more waterproof, the tires were 9.00x16 and heavy plys. the transfer cases were all gears, no chains. put all those under a modern body and you might have the same capabilities. automatic transmissions not even thought of
