I just wanted to add a little more detail about swapping to the SRT style bumper and hood. Hope this helps if your thinking about doing this to your 15 and up Charger.

    Looks real good bro! I am in the process of redoing my R/T bumpers to SRT bumpers. Through knowledge and going to my local Dodge dealership.. you need to buy the closure panel for the SRT rear bumper. This piece EVERYONE forgets about and that’s why the valance does not clip into anything. The closure panel must be changed for that rear valance to snap in. Other than that, looks great!

  • @super6charger501

    @super6charger501

    6 жыл бұрын

    Sorry for the late response Jhon, but the SRT style bumper uses the diffuser with the rounded holes for the round exhaust tips. I tried to put the screw-on tips onto the resonators w/o modifying the exhaust but they wouldn't stay on. So I did a resonator delete and added the nicer Borla weld-on rounded tips. I didn't care for the sound of the resonator delete so I went with the full PYPES exhaust system and have had no regrets, it sounds great! and looks good. So to answer your question, no if you try to use the stock diffuser (not sure if they fit the SRT style bumper). Yes if you want more sound with the new look. I hope this helps, good luck. Lemme know if I can help with anything else!

So my only question to you is an im not sure if you had this problem as well. but the lower screw in the wheel well at the bottom of the bumper i believe it's the 7MM. How did you get yours to line up. I am having an a hard time getting the bracket to line up with the bumper. The 10MM at the top fit perfectly. Currently I am just running it without the bottom screw in it. Just wondering if you had this same issue as well. Thanks again for this video lots of good information like everyone said.

    Hi Rob, thanks for watching. No real major adjustments. The only thing you need to make sure of is before you fully tighten the hood down, check the alignment by closing it. Nothing major. No it didn't come with a heat shield. I don't use one now, didn't think it was necessary especially with the heat release vents in the Hellcat hood. Helps to keep the engine compartment cool. You'll have to order the bezels from ebay. You'll love and be so glad you changed the hood because it drastically changes the look of the car. Totally worth it!

If you want to keep your resonators I think they can weld the tips on to them. Ask the exhaust shop if that’s possible. Glad to hear everything is coming along. Keep me posted 👍🏾

    Aylts Thunder Hi, the best way to go about it if you're concerned about price is to shop around and compare but usually the manufacturer is almost always going to be higher although its a more direct source. But I ordered mine from an eBay listing (seller) called carpartswholesale for less than $300 which proved to be a very reliable source with good shipping. I was also able to get the plastic exhaust rear valance from them as well, if you need it ($81.00). They do not come w/ the rear sensors, those are extra cost either from Mopar or another Googled source you may be able to find them. If your existing bumper has them already you should be able to add them to your new bumper, just get the bumper with the holes.

    Hi Gregg, I am trying to swap the rear bumper and hood on my SXT! Your video was amazing and so detailed but I have couple of questions for you! Do I need to buy hardware for the bumper or they can use the old ones! I am going to get the side flaps and the bolts/pins someone suggested for the button valance! Do I nerd to change the mufflers or just the tips? Also do you know if I am going to have trouble with my moose warranty by adding mods? Thank you so much, o have been trying to do this for a while but I could not find any help, you covered everything in the video so well! Thank you so much! Maria

    Hi Maria! Thank you for watching my video, I’m so glad you found it helpful. I don’t remember any hardware coming with the rear bumper.You should be able to use the same pins and screws. It mostly just snaps into place. It’s held in by screws behind the taillights after you remove them. The rear valance will have round holes so you will need round tips. Mine are 4”. If you are not doing a full Catback exhaust, you sould delete your resonators and have the tips welded on. Although people often delete their mufflers too, I wasn’t a fan of that sound so I would keep my mufflers until I could find some better high flow ones. You will need a closure panel for the new valance which you can get from the dealership. I did a video on that installation too. No, your warranty should be fine as long as you don’t mod your engine, like supercharge it. Appearance mods won’t affect it. The hood I used the same bolts from the old one, worked perfectly. If you find you need extra pins or buttons you can easily order some from eBay or Amazon.

    Johnathan Akpan teambeefcakeracing here’s the link www.teambeefcakeracing.com/jltsgfr-c15.html I think they only have front and rear set. When I bought mine a rear set only was available. You can use any small fine toothed saw with a thin blade. I used a hobby saw, any one will cut the plastic fairly easy. I found a small red hacksaw in Walmart that would also do the trick. Make sure you mark the mud flaps by placing them on the car and tracing them before you cut.

    Jianji Li thanks man. Go for it, it will add some real aggression to the look of your Charger! Yes there is water that will get into the engine bay with the Hellcat style hood. On the passenger side it wets the top of the ABS module which I simply bought an OEM cover for. It was rusting the screws on it but the cover took care of that. On the driver side if you have a cold air intake, your filter will get water on it. You’ll need some sort of cover for it too. I hadn’t seen one on line but I made one from the side of a bucket and wire ties, works great! See my other video RIPP kit 2 month review and update at around the 11:00 mark.

    @@lijianji19910519 Yes a little water gets through there too but only on your engine cover. I removed my cover after I installed the sc but it still gets a few harmless drops on top of the intake manifold. Either way You don't have to worry about water getting into the engine. The scoop is great for heat escape and extra air for the engine.

  • @super6charger501

    MaskedEagle1 the fog lights came from seller Quirkparts on eBay for $294.19. Yeah my friend and I installed them but I had to take it to the dealer to activate them. Personally I think it's ridiculous to charge $150.00 for that. I had no choice. I think a Z automotive tazer might do it if you have one or know someone.

    Thanks Ayoukenn! My hood came from moparpartsoverstock.com for $650. I didn't change my front bumper but my rear bumper came from seller carpartswholesale on eBay. The rear bumper was $284 and the exhaust diffuser was $81. You have to get them painted yourself. Maaco did a very good job on my rear bumper and a small little paint shop did the hood, he did just Ok. It's totally up to you to choose a paint shop near you.

    Yes it did. It is black primed plastic prior to painting that was simple to install using the existing screws, plugs and rivets of the stock bumper. Pull the plugs and a screw near the wheel wells and peel back the carpet behind the tail lamp and remove the screw(s) it pulls right off.

    Sid Bates hey brother! Yeah I ordered the kit from the ebay store. The name of the retailer is QuickParts. The kit will come with everything you need so make sure its the complete kit and not just the lights. You'll need a Z automotive tazer to activate them or need to take it to the dealer. The dealer charged me $150 and the tazer is $250 but gives you more uses and options.

    Hi Gregg, Sorry I am bombarding you with questions. I am not having luck with the dealers! They are asking me for an srt vin number and I don’t have one. Do you know the part number of your rear bumper?

  • @super6charger501

    @super6charger501

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Maria! No problem at all, ask all the questions you need. I don’t understand why the dealer does this. I went by to ask about a srt front fascia for my car and he told me the same thing. I guess it’s only for major parts because when I was able to get the vent bezels and closure panel for the rear bumper no problem. There’s two options, one you can order online from a mopar parts site or eBay. My hood came from moparpartsoverstock.com and my rear bumper from eBay. Of course the con is you’ll have to pay shipping. The other is to go over to the sales lot and get a vin from one of those and provide them with that. Should work fine.
