Looks beautiful! I think a pair of hiking boots and trekking poles (or even a stick of wood!) will help you with balance and confidence on that steep section in the 3rd attempt! Great effort though and good call. After all, the mountains will always be there for us to try again, as long as we are smart enough to not hurt ourselves too bad and make trying again not possible

Hi Jack ,great effort, you were nearly to those rocks ,( mackies rocks ) and then a more gentler short scree slope to the Lizard ( The rock band )and then poles are a hazzle ,because you use your hands for climbing.But poles are a definite advantage for trekking anywhere.you might get another chance before winter ,if you live close ,Saturday 6th April was beautiful, No ice .p.s I'm 69yrs ,enjoyed your video.good tips for others,gloves ,poles ,food ,drink .hope you make it next time .Cheers

I tried to get up via the Syme Hut route on Fanthams Peak (which is harder than the usual route) about a week ago, but also had to give up at Syme Hut because it was too icy and dangerous to continue without crampons, ice axe and the skill to use them.
