This documentary made me cry because I know the feeling of wanting to become a monk. Its not a selfish reason but a desire to make the world a better place by inhabiting peace itself. I too want to become a monk and am currently in the process of looking into monasteries. I want to inhabit peace and help bring peace to this world. This is one of the ways to do that.

i spent lots of time with monks in nepal. You need to live there or save lots of money to live there or work in the west. there are very few donors in the west and one must be very very flexible in nepal. wish you much luck in the bodhicitta, wish to benefit others. and make sure you do not need women or girlfriends too :) contact me if interested in Tibetan Buddhism. read Heart of Compassion by Dilgo Khyentse :) peace and compassion. i used to be ordained for a week, it was touching because in that moment i don't have to think about how social changes or goes on. i stayed with my own mind, be sufficiency and live simplest. it was the most peaceful moment of my life. how ever, here in thailand has thousands of temples, most don't teach you the pure buddhist. the one in this video is one of the best temple in thailand that learn the pure buddhist, learn what buddha really tough his monks.
Lots of love to you Anja you lost a brother but gained a Monk. :)
A loving sister.. and a lucky one to witnessed the brother took on a purposeful journey.
I'd like to thank you to anyone who upload this documentary, Khun Anja who directed this film and Pra Santeri who inspired me to the way of peace. Year 2016 some friend shared this in his FB wall that was the 1st time made me know Wat Mab Chan and Ajan Anan then year 2018 i've been there one time for 3 days stayed at the temple as a Pa Kow. And i'll go again if i had a chance.

To Santeri and his family, a heartfelt thank you.
Wow, what a beautiful documentary. Thank so much for making it and sharing it. I cried when I saw it. Thank you 🙏🏻
I'm a monk. I travelled 6,000 miles from USA to Taiwan. And I realized that you do not become a different person lol. Its superficial to think your environment or physical location will affect your habits or yourself spiritually on your behalf. So much traveling to realize I did not have to travel. Sometimes we awaken , not in the way or time we plan too, but when we least expect it, when our mind is clear and ready.

As a monk you can get dedicated time for formal meditation practice that is not available in lay life because of other responsibilities. So maybe not the location or environment, but I do think that the time for practice is what will change your habits or yourself spiritually. Talking from experience of meditation course retreats, I can imagine if I can extend the stay for years instead of weeks it would have an even bigger impact. Is that not the case?
Beautiful. Thank you!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this part of your lives. Having been a monk 15 or so years ago, it brought back so many memories of my forest temple in Samut Prakaan, and my teachers and friends. I could almost feel the humidity; smell the smells, experience the emotions..A forest temple has it's own..."feeling." I have yet to return but I know i will. I didn't know how much I miss it. Every good blessing to Than Santeri, worthy of gifts, hospitality and praise, noble disciple, merit of the world.
Very interesting and well made. Thank you for sharing it with us on KZread (with english subtitles).

NO need to leave home for search of PEACE. Peace lies in one's own mind. For finding peace of mind, practice of VIPASSANA meditation is enough. Anybody can learnt it in Myanmar at Buddhist Meditation Centers run by Buddhist Monks. Simply leaving home & loved ones is not necessary. Practising , living with peace in civilised urban life is worthy, Solving problems with the help of Vipasssana, without leaving situations is real homage to Buddha. Metta ! Sadhu ! Sadhu ! Sadhu !
