Coming from the LDS side of things. I love learning about our brothers and sisters of the restoration. I hope they see us the same way!

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I have not learned much about the Community of Christ Church until recently. My church bought some property that's been lovingly cared for by CoC for many years, including the Kirkland Temple and other buildings important to our shared history. I was so moved by this video and am looking forward to learning about this "cousin" church of mine. I'm probably related to many of the members as a descendant of Hyrum Smith from his first wife Jerusha Barden Smith. I am so sad that I didn't have much interest in visiting this temple when I was visiting Independence over a decade ago. It looks like a beautiful, spiritual place.

I am not CoC or any restoration church but I'm very interested in the history of these churches. I went to this beautiful temple in 2015. It was a wonderful visit.

What a blessing this video is for seekers and life-long church members! Being fifth generation Community of Christ, I am so proud, comforted, and humbled by the vision and dedication of our people. We share the joy, hope, love, and peace of Jesus with all, a true inspiration for the world. Keep letting your lights shine! Shalom :)

I strongly felt God's Holy Ghost, during the whole length of this video, making me to cry at the end, where the singing started.

My friend recently became Mormon (LDS), and I've been spending some free time learning about the Latter Day Saint movement- it's quite interesting to see how different groups have developed so differently, despite a common origin.

The LDS church has 17 million members worldwide. Community of Christ has around 250,000. There are other slinter groups with even fewer members.

There's a great book by an LDS author that shows that there's perfect harmony between the prophetic statements concerning the garden of Eden being in Missouri and the Old Testament account concerning the garden of Eden. It's called Canaan, Babylon, and Egypt A Comparative Theological Analysis on Creation sold by Eborn Books.

There's a glass pyramid in Rome called the Palace of peace and reconciliation 💟💟 It's not very far from the pantheon, which looks a little similar to the auditorium over there in Independence 🤔

" . . . a once violent church repenting to become a peace church." Question: In Nauvoo and in northern Missouri, were we simply expected to lie down and be slain by those who wanted us dead, not protecting our children and our spouses? I do not believe that Jesus, the Prince of Peace expected that of our forebears. If our early people were totally wiped out, would this movement even exist today at all ?

It went beyond mere self defense and you know that. The rape of Daviess county by Danites and Mormon milita saw innocent stores looted, barns razed, and friend and foe to the church alike caught in the cross fire.

So the RLDS chruch changed their name to the Community of Christ and denounced the Book of Mormon as scripture and have females as apostles. Interesting..

  • @luigibolognesi9559

@@elrayshopefulthinking no. Your narrative of Joseph Smith is basically invented by you guys. For example Joseph Smith taught that Heavenly father, the Son ad the Holy Ghost are three diffrent Beings. How can you guys still believe in Trinity? And Joseph Smith taught about baptism for the dead. How can you guys just don't practice it. Joseph Smith ideology of Christianity is clear you can't just change it. You don't even believe that Joseph Smith was a poligamist but historians taught that Joseph Smith practiced poligamy. You can still believe what you want but the truth is far from you guys. To Joseph Smith was reveled that the name of the church in the last days is The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-days saints how can you guys call yourself the comunity of christ? No wonder why the 98% of those who believe in Joseph Smith revelations belong to the LDS church.

The Community of Christ/RLDS was founded on the principle that every prophet must descend from Joseph Smith Jr. That's gone. The CofC church was founded on the principles taught and organized by Joseph Smith Jr. That's gone. They should be honest with themselves and call themselves Protestant Christians and do away with anything Joseph Smith taught and organized as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church Joseph Smith Jr. organized and presided over and carries on today.

The problem is that any church ( LDS, RLDS, Temple-Lot, FLDS, Brickertonites (sp?), Apostolic United Brethern, Cutlerites, Strangites, and more) that is from Joseph Smith Jr. is related to and at times agreeing with his lies, heresies, and false doctrine. The RLDS id not as well known as the Utah LDS, yet the RLDS really need to rethink if they want to be part of a movement that said that ALL other church were accursed in God's eyes.

That isn't accurate. It continued for it's formative years with Prophets descended from Joseph Jr. It is not a principle that they MUST descend from the first Restoration Prophet. It is telling that you think they SHOULD do away with Joseph Smith. You are showing gross ignorance of Protestantism and Community of Christ. The Community of Christ is far closer to what Joseph Jr brought forth. The Church continues to canonize revelation in the Doctrine and Covenants. Something alien to Protestantism and long abandoned by the Utah LDS church.

As someone who was baptized in this church I have a hard time with how left leaning it has become. It keeps me away 😔. Once I heard how he said how evil capitalism is ,that just made it even more clear.
