Doctor Who - Every Season 1 Reference I Could Think Of In "There's Always a Twist (At The End)"
Ойындар
A few things:
1) I wanted to make this before Empire of Death released just in case the DW social media team or RTD himself puts out a "Genius"-like video explaining the song's meaning.
2) I know the cliffside in 73 Yards isn't Land's End, but I felt the comparison was apt (or should that be 'ap Gwilliam' hehe).
3) If there are any I missed or if you have a different interpretation do let me know!
4) 'The Big Bopper' also composed a song called "She Giggles", but as Maestro's pronouns are they/them I felt it didn't quite work.
5) I apologise for the lack of subtitles and quick editing, in hindsight I should have paused at each point.

You should edit a video together of the whole song uninterrupted with all these reference clips

@@Illustrator2 That was the initial plan, but I couldn't find much regarding the missing segments so I felt it'd be better to focus on brevity

Thank you. The only line that I can hear without this aid is “there’s always a twist at the end” lol
I thought "There's Always a Twist" was added for fun bit, but didn't expected that it being added for referencing the future events.

It actually makes me think that this episode was supposed to be broadcasted before The Legend of a Ruby Sunday But for some reason, they decided to make it the second episode.
Murray Gold did it again! The same thing happened with "Song for Ten" where the song came out in the beginning of the season and described the finale Maybe that's one of the reasons they put The Devil's Chord so early despite seemingly airing out of order with The Doctor and Ruby stating they'd traveled for a while and "Boom" being the first time Ruby sees an alien planet.

It could be argued that they weren't always travelling during those months. Companions can go home for a bit

@@thepandorica1660 they had to have travelled at least a bit though, ruby says to the doctor "you never hide" despite the fact in the previous episode thats exactly what the doctor did.
Tbf the twist at the end was ruby mum wasn’t some big hyped up entity so they did warn us
okay this does make me like the song a little more now because i do like when murray gold put references into his music. like song for ten, the stowaway and love don't roam.
Notice the Goblin Song scream at 0:28 and 0:39 too.

They did intend it yes
One thing I don't see people noticing is that Susan Triad's actor is Susan *Twist,* and she appears in every episode. There's always a *Twist.*

"Sing along if you kiss the mist" could also be Boom.

no... No there's much more insidious mist in the show that people definitely fucking kissed It's sutekhs gift of death, in sand form
i personally think your overlooking it especially the "no penaulties for faults" but cool theory or whatever it would be called
Susan twist was at the end
