Their not very good at recalling past events which is ridiculous when its about time travel. I always thought they missed a good story by not having Wilf as the copper he played in the Dr Who movie in the 60s, that would have made the older fans like me tingle. I watched the first ever episode late november l think aged 6 in 1963. An unearthly child. With the real Dr William Hartnell. By gum I'm bluddy old.

Bernard Cribbins was 93 when he died last year, and he shot those scenes just before his death. Having him up and about as the copper would have been near impossible given his health issues... plus, the films are not part of the official canon@@biggusdickus5986

I think it boiled down to RTD bringing back Donna and 10 and deciding he needed to give them a happy ending this time if he was going to do that. He also just has a history of playing with the rules of the show as opposed to Moffat who danced around them. I think primarily giving him another TARDIS was down to him thinking back to the metacrisis Doctor and deciding it was weird to have a Doctor without a TARDIS. I do believe it also was low key meant to serve as a back door to David Tennant though

Bi regeneration might actually add more to that line than you think. The 11th met his 4th incarnation as a curator. He then said he might end up revisiting a few "old favorite" faces. Now we got the 14th doctor with the 10ths face spending even more time on earth with his tardis. The 14th could eventually regenerate into his 4th incarnation and travel back in time to retire as a curator while the 15th continues his story for future regenerations.

I absolutely HATED how they handled the regeneration. The whole magic and appeal of the Doctor regenerating is that although he is completely different he is the SAME person. This doesn’t feel like that anymore. It feels like 15 is a brand new entity and OUR doctor, the actual Doctor has just given up the tardis and who knows if and when we’ll ever see him again? Nah. Hate it.

Each Doctor is different though? Yes they are literally the same character, just each one has different personality. It's why multi Doctor stories like The Three Doctor, and Day of the Doctor work as we can see how different each Doctor is. Also it works for a decent way to have Tennants Doctor a break he so desperately needs while Ncutis off doing his Adventure

I think this will be the only time it ever occurs, since David Tennant doctor was the only doctor who cried not to leave, his wish finally came true. IT also reminds when his hand was cut off and it started regenerating, so this bi-regeneration isn't complete nonsense.

The question no one is asking, Does14 eventually regenerate into the fugitive doctor somehow? It could explain why she had a second Tardis that we saw during thirteens run.

It’s really dumb because it spoils the impact of regeneration and turns it into a goofy joke. If the Doctor can live on then why have him regenerate at all?

RTD should be locked up for interfering and treason for attempted murder of a national treasure that is the Doctor. I wonder how great tennant would have been with a great writer shorn of " messages " things said that wouldnt have even been thought of and definitily not needed in the older shows.

When it comes to doctor who there's always gonna be hits and misses but overall. I think this will be all right for now. You gotta remember when the fourth doctor regenerated into the fifth. He basically merged with another creature in order to regenerate into his fifth regeneration. So if anything should happen in the near future. I got a feeling something might like that might happen. But that's too early to say

All I can say is, I really want Ncuti Gatwa's doctor to succeed. Thats all I want, if that happens then nothing will be wrong in the world.

They're both "full" though, Fifteen has Fourteen's memories and experiences. There's no loss of anything. It's bi-generation, it's new, it's Doctor Who. I'm pleasantly surprised and hope it paves way for Tennant adventures as a spin-off.

It's incredibly smart imo - the Toymaker wants to play the last round vs a new Doctor but cause the game is still technically in play from the second round he can't simply eliminate 14 from the playing field so instaed of forcing a regeneration he causes a bigeneration.

Personally i think RTD made the bi-regeneration only to have a 'plan b' with David Tennant Doctor if the new Doctor fails. For me it shows how little faith RTD has in the future with the new Doctor. It wasn't as 'outrageous' as RTD claimed this episode would be but not worthy to be considered a masterpiece. It's a solid episode i'd say but like the 2 previous specials it didn't feel like a 60th anniversary special. RTD still can write a good story if he concentrates on the characters and storytelling instead of adding stuff just to piss off the fans. However the Christmas special is better to be outstanding if he really wants the show to take off and give the new Doctor a good push and a chance to succeed.

I think it's a way of having David Tennant return again He is arguably the most popular doctor of our generation So people will always be happy to see David in the role

I'm just happy we keep Tennant this time and that version doesn't die and regenerate this time. We get to keep him and Donna, and they get a happy ending. He can still travel the universe whenever he wants and he gets to keep that face this time. I'm happy. I didn't want to say goodbye to my Doctor all over again. This was a good compromise by Russell. We get a new Doctor but fans at the same time we get to keep our Doctor (Tennant).

Gatwa said that he was fine because tennant fixed himself. Rehab out of order. Im pretty sure that means that they are still the same dr just at different points in time but happening at the same time. Meaning that eventually tennant will regenerate into gatwa and both tardises are actually the same tardis. Like the toymaker pulled his future self out through him rather than him actually regenerating

The answer is simple for either how 14 and 15 will end up...The Valeyard

2 Doctor's and 2 TARDIS's....nope doesn't work for me. It just feels like the real Doctor got so wary, that a clone was made and said, hey you just put your feet up and i will now travel the universe instead and in your name. For me the real Doctor has just retired. Leaving a fake Doctor to do his job for him. Not a great way to honour what should have been Ncuti Gatwa's passing of the torch as the 15th incarnation. A new Doctor with no cares for the Doctors past- which still remains very much unresolved.

I think you put into words well what bothered a lot of us about this. The duplicated TARDIS is what really nailed the whole “clone” thing down. Really delegitimized Ncuti in a way

So not a cheap out… 15 said that that he was doing rehab in the wrong order… so that means what happens to 14 on earth affects 15… they had to give 14 a ship because then when he regenerates 15 wouldn’t of had one… and they said 15 was older… so what if the whole Bi-regeneration is just somehow the future doctor coming into past through the means of his younger self do to a sticky situation that 15 had found himself in. So essentially 14 pulled a 10 and didn’t change is face after the beam… and has far as there being two doctors on the same time line that’s always been a thing… they can time travel and time is constantly moving so it’s sorta the same as the doctors being in the same place at the same time as other specials has had them do they’ve just found themselves at the same time and place as a past/future version as the one we’re currently following

Doctors in the olden days usually have some angst about being in the company of their regenerations. I preferred it that way.

I agree with u. A lot of unanswered questions surrounding the bi-generation term. Other than that looking forward to seeing Ncuti Gatwa as number 15 in the future season’s of Dr Who.

I thought in an earlier story that the doctor was never allowed to physically come into contact with earlier versions of himself lest it destroyed the integrity of the previous Dr timestream before the next regeneration...

It certainly isn't dumb. It's so smart and maybe a bit too smart for it's own good. Cause now we're seeing so much conjecture and theories from people who are determined to over think it

Wonder if the older Doctors are going to show up again. I keep hearing that Russel said that it has retroactively changed all the older regenerations to bigenerations. Havent seen it for myself though.

I just wonder if they will both be able to regenerate, did ncuati get a new set of 12 regenerations or did he take the rest of tennants.

sadly that wouldn't make sense; as why doesn't The Fugitive Doctor know about the 13th Doctor her past self or know what a sonic screwdriver is? My Belief is after listening to what the 15th Doctor tells the 14th Doctor , is that he is from the point after the 14th Doctor has spent time with the Nobles, talking to them and getting things off his chest and mentally healing; hence the 15th Doctor's line to the 14th Doctor about having had therapy out of order, my theory is a Bi-Regeneration is when a Time Lord has a regeneration in two different points of time at the exact same moment. As for the "2nd" Tardis; there are clues that the 15th Doctor's tardis and the 14th Doctor's tardis are the same one, but the 15th Doctor's is from the future; it is an exact copy except it has the added juke box and also the wheel chair ramp. Why a wheel chair ramp? Well when we see the 14th Doctor with the Nobles we hear Wilfred shooting moles in the distance; Rose mentions wanting to go on adventures with the 14th Doctor; and I wouldn't be surprised old Wilfred wouldn't want to go on some more too and I can easily see the Doctor adding a wheel chair ramp to make it easier for Wilfred to get in and out of the tardis. Since the 15th Doctor was brought back to his past, again implied by his excitement to see Donna and Mel, and play the Toy Maker's game; to the point he gladly whips the ball at his past self. Why? Because he knows they defeat the Toy Maker he's already witnessed it when he was the 14th Doctor, but since he is from the future he is separed from the tardis so his prize is getting the tardis back to him in the Toy Realm; so him grabbing the mallet and hitting the tardis to "split it in two" is all an act so he doesn't spoil stuff for his previous incarnation , but he didn't actually split the tardis into two, it's really the same tardis brought from the future after the whole living with the Nobles and healing himself brought back to his past when he fought the Toymaker.

@@brandoman79 Doctor who has changed cannon so many times since 1963 its insane. every showrunner seems to decide if gallelfrey is gone or not. Mind wipes happen. Tardis interiors change. The master had a tardis until he didn't until chibs gave the master a tardis again. Fact is right now two police boxes exist. 13 dug up one of them. the interiors get reset. Its possible they can make something up to explain this. Two doctors Same DNA. Same brain.

If you follow the comic, the David tenant doctor with Rose also have a TARDIS. He regrown the Tardis from a small piece of the Tardis. I wish they would have shown that in the TV series. Now there are 3 doctors with three Tardis. In addition, the timeless child storyline shows that there were more regeneration before the first doctor and other bigeneration may have happened before.

The timeless child was just self indukgent rubbish a travesty that should be eradicated along with its writer.

Well he's always only temporary, but l get the feeling the new doctors going to be the worst yet, l think we will be shouting for the lady doctor to come back because he's going to be so awfully annoying he sounded gay in just a few minutes on screen, l mean camp type too, l wait in trepidation. But l know its going to be bad, asdoes RTD which is why he left open the door for tennant.

I feel sorry for Ncuti because, so far, he has been given second hand treatment - TWICE. First - including him in An Adventure in Space and Time. A lot of fans like this, but really think about it. Instead of giving Ncuti his own moment, he's just been digitally superimposed into a scene that belonged to another Doctor. It's a literal hand-me-down. Second - now. For reasons stated in this video, he is sharing a simultaneous existence with David Tennant's Doctor (who also has his own TARDIS). For now, Ncuti is not his own Doctor. And that's a shame. The bigeneration is a bad idea.

The 11th stepped into his timeline. Its going to cause some issues which havent played out yet

I believe the 14th Doctor will eventually regenerate to become 15. Dies of old age (perhaps his life span is shorter now so he can spend it with Donna) and awakens in the bi-regen as 15. In the bi-regen, it is, after all, implied that 15 was pulled from 14’s future “I’m better because you fix yourself”. So they’re not separate entities anymore once 15 arrives, hence my theory.

Time is never Linear. Time lines and lives can change because of it. Like some doctors can make appearances from their adventures like in the Day of the Doctor when we thought all of their lives were finished. Crossing ones own time stream may have tremendous effects so what if he never did that. Maybe Bi generation isnt a universal breaking thing like the Celestial Toymakers prize was to play with the next doctor never stating for this one to die. Its only a myth because breaking the rules weren't considered. Maybe in the future we see an event of all the doctors saying a thank you or seeing glimpse of different timelines where all was Victorious no lives were lost and no sorrows felt. This may be the era of the Doctor Infinite solidifying a mere title in the Fabric of the Universe.

We'll likely see another Tennant episode, I predict spin off specials with him. He loves Doctor Who and will always come back to it if asked. Giving him a TARDIS always gives them that option.

I think it’s an okay idea. Retire the classic doctor and begin a new era. I do like that they did say it’s rare for Bi-regeneration to happen which means it’s not a guarantee that when Ncuti regenerates it will happen again. I really think this is the only time they will do it.

I did think it was a bit crazy this bi-regeneration, but now I kind of like it. David Tennant doctor was the only doctor who cried not to leave, his wish finally came true. IT also reminds when his hand was cut off and it started regenerating, so this bi-regeneration does have the grounds to exist.

As long as it has a basis I'm fine with it, since the previous doctor said it felt different I believe the 4th or 5th on Tardis floor, I'm fine with this fresh change whilst as said doctor limbs tried to regenerate on there own, so regeneration can occur when the host splits whether it be a limb or himself it seems now.

maybe a future adventure will see the 14th doctor be reabsorbed into the current doctor to save the life of that future doctor or maybe 14 can become the curator

It's like something written by a 5 year old. Particularly the whole idea that it happened simultaneously for all the past Doctors, utterly ridiculous. At least The Timeless Children was properly thought through and explained on screen, even if it was unpopular. RTD has jumped the shark AND the dolphin AND a whole bunch of penguins

I like it on a story level. The Doctor getting to both settle down _and_ continue adventuring is lovely. But on a meta level... I think it would have been wiser to just go with a straight forward regeneration. Because I've already seen videos spouting nonsense about 15 "not being The Doctor", which could have been avoided. Though I'm ultimately quite happy with the ending we got, it does feel like RTD trying to have his cake and eat it too (which I don't blame him for in the slightest btw).

To me that's a smart move you have two doctors both occupying the same space and time. Also that keeps the door open for a possible season finale cliff hanger at some point. The 15th doctor would be fighting a enemy too powerful for just one. Also during the day of the doctor yes there was three different doctors together. They was from separate timelines war doctor from the great war of galifrey, the 10th was after the time war and the 11th "centuries" later. That would of caused a catastrophic event that could destroy all of time if the doctors didn't go back to their own timeline.

I think it’s clever as everyone hated the 13th run but Davies being a good writer was like it wasn’t false that line but instead it’s the end with Jody regenerating into David and David retiring at the end of this season. It also links to the 13th doctor episodes of the people who had regeneration powers and in my opinion if worked well can make the 13th run as well turn good. Yes as side the script and half the episodes were terrible but you cannot start fresh from a show that’s been running 60+ years you need to link. I hope and you guys need to hope and trust. 😊

I think it was a good idea it was a fantastic episode of the specials i did like the regeneration to the new doctor it was absolute so difficult than previous doctor's it was great to see the new doctor with David Tennant & he was so happy which i liked. I don't think it was the last time to see David Tennant but i would be surprised to see him again. I can't wait to see more of the new doctor

If Ncuti flops hard, they could just retcon him as a "non-doctor" and return to Tennant. But I still think this is all dumb.

I like how all the focus has gone on the bigeneration and that RTD got away with the biting social commentary in the episode about everyone thinking they are right and never compromising. Personally that was one of the best bits of the whole story in my opinion.

I have no issue with it because it is so true xD I find it ironic that he puts this social commentary when he is exactly like that. Everyone on the left think they're right due to "moral superiority " (which is really utter rubbish) and everyone opposing the left think they're right because they adhere to logic and common sense. Neither compromises. Both hate each other. Left hates right for being "sexist/racist", the right hates the left because they get called "sexist/racist" for not agreeing with the left. Like, can't both sides stop seeing each other as the villain? Compromise bruv. There are sexists and racists on both sides. But there are a lot of good people on both sides as well.

It would be cool for the story to tell the origins of the valeyard (the evil version of the doctor) through this bi-generation with one of them becoming the valeyard

God I hate the bi-generation. So many unexplained things. Can 14 regenerate? Or does 14 have to go merge back into 15 at some stage to bring the bodies back together? With the rumoured UNIT spin-off, will 14 join UNIT? That could give the spin-off some serious draw power, having Tennant signed on, even if it's just a minor role. The biggest issue I have now, is that whenever Ncuti's Doctor comes to save modern day Earth, we'll always just say "well couldn't 14 have dealt with this?" Something dramatic happens globally, and 14's just gonna stay seated in Donna's garden talking about eyebrows?

Heres my theories for bi-regeneration and why 13 reverted back into a previous face(not saying this is what 100% happens but my assumption. So if this is not the case dont bite my head off becayse russel's reasons differ from mines) *Reason why 14 uses 10s face:* Is due to the master messing up the doctors regeneration cycles by becoming a doctor. Then 13 returning back not stable(because she just regenerated back and the phase wasnt solidified, like how ten could regenerate a hand before the process was done) and her instantly being force to regenerate *again* makes her go back to a familar face due to the meddling of the master. *Why bi-generation happened:* The doctor was in the toymaker's domain and regenerating in this weird place causes him to bi-generate. You can also add on the master theory to this because he did mess up the doctors rotations and forced her to regenerate into 14.

It served no purpose whatsoever and makes Ncuti into discount Doctor

They are grasping so badly to save Doctor Who but they are only digging the hole deeper. This is just meta crisis 2.0, we never heard from that doctor again. Instead of having self reflection and looking at what has worked and what hasn't, they just keep trying to fan the flames. It's all just so disappointing.

Dumb , Pandaverse bs especially Jason/Rose and splitting The Doctor and doubling his T.A.R.D.I.S.. This show has being going down since the companions were first called fam. My biggest disappointment with the Bigeneration is it didn’t feel like ncuti was the real doctor. He was so quick to leave Donna behind which I don’t think the real doctor would do even if her favorite face was still back there with her Yk?

litterally! Its so weird, it doesn't make any sense if they are the same person, he just buggered off and was somehow completely free from all guilt like a completely different person.

So they're both the exact same person not an original and copy? That's what I'm not quite getting. You could kill one of them and he'd still be not dead?

The 14th Doctor has already regenerated into the 15th Doctor. Next time he regenerates, it’ll be into his own 16th Doctor, while the 15th Doctor will regenerate into his own, parallel 16th Doctor.

Another Doctor Clone - AGAIN? One for Rose (in the alternative Universe) - and one for Donna? RTD is running out of ideas. Even the Global Threat that was linked to technology that all Human's were linked too was a rehash of ATMOS for Season 4. The Spice Girls song "Spice of your Life" was a rehash of "Voodoo Child" from Season 3. Another rehashed happy ending like Rose? Grabbing the Master via Tooth (via red fingernails) ala Season 3. Where are the original ideas? Ncuti Gatwa was great. I'm worried for Doctor Who with rehashed bad writing from RTD like this!

I honestly appreciate it. This is the jumping off point for those of us that have no interest in watching the show anymore. The show ended for me today. 10 got a family and can retire. Beautiful. I do appreciate it from RTD. He can now go do whatever he wants with his doctor. Mines over.

I haven’t watched since that “trump” Jodie episode. Decided it wasn’t for me but I did watch reviews to keep up with story line. Not even that now. I’m not the fan they want. I really do appreciate the episode. It’s a great ending for the original line of doctors.

I think there was no hole in him because the toymaker didnt want there to be. He just wanted to do enough damage to force a regeneration. And as he controls everything now he can decide what the laser does. Pretty sure the whole bigeneration thing was the toymakers doing aswell as he wanted to keep duplicating the doctor to keep killing and playing with him

I think he's bound by the rules of his own game - if you start/continue a best of 3 vs one incarnation of a Time Lord you can't remove it from play cause you want to play another.

I think its a perfect way for the 60th to end, given that next series is going to be branded as season 1, this could be looked at as one Finale of doctor who. So they ended it. But in a way that it still goes on

Just fills the plot hole of the curator from the 50th. Bi generated Tennant retires and regenerate in to a few of the old favorites and heads back in the Tardis to meet 11, the long way round. It was brilliant.

this also adds another theory, what if the master was actually a bi-regeneration way back, which is why they could be friends, and maybe due to some trauma they did not remember if they actually were the same being I have another slightly more messed up theory...(maybe possible), the 13th doctor might have had a one night stand at some point and resulted in bi regeneration here

David turns into Tom baker lol 😂

I think its genius, as it opens up a for a spin off series plus David is my 2nd fave dr so I'm happy he's back.plus I think there would be a uproar if he left again so soon after coming back. It made me laugh when you said the dr from our childhood, I forget that he is the dr of may people's childhood which makes me feel very, very old as my childhood drs are Tom Baker, Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy 🙈 although Tom Baker will always be my no 1 Dr. That's because Tom was never acting as a character he was just been himself which made him all the more fun to watch, there is a reason so many people like the 4th dr and say hes one of the best we have had. David was a lot like Tom in many ways, which is why so many are happy to have him back again.because hes either the 1st or 2nd favourite of so many. I say 1st and 2nd as you will find most older fans like myself will always Tom 1st and David 2nd where as the genration of my kids will put David 1st and Tom 2nd unless your like my son who would put Tom 1st and David 2nd lol 😀

No Timeless Child was dumb, Fugitive Doctor horrible. This could be cool, give it a chance.

When I was watching the episode I was honestly hoping that both of them would merge back together somehow, because I honestly really don't like how there's two of them now. I would rather just have a regeneration that works in the traditional way that we've seen a million times before. I thought the laser going through 14 was honestly a good way to make him regenerate, but I'd rather 14 actually regenerate into 15.

Just from the few minutes we've seen of the new dr calling people well tennant love, I'm getting a baaaaaad feeling about his tenure l think the new Dr is going to be sooo annoying and crap.

This is the end of doctor who as we've known him. Ncuti is rebooting it for the pc woke people who want to watch shows with diversity and sexuality issues, as a kid who grew up on Russell Davies work and then seen the previous doctors as years went by I want to watch ncuti gatwa but I can't stand how openly their forcing gay sexuality on people, that shouldn't be the point of the show when it's meant to just be an awesome scifi show. There's nothing wrong with lgbtq whatever it is people can do whatever they want but just don't force it on everyone too much

I loved that they left it so David could "guest" when required, or even do the odd "special" with Donna. Ncuti Gatwa's Dr. was full of fun and engergy, just like David was. That' what was missing with the last two Whos.

Dramatically it was a TOO happy ending. There needs to be a smidgen of despair in addition to a great deal of hope.
