I honestly think that as much as they keep asking him if he wants to, David will ALWAYS be available and able to come back for one more run. No matter how old he gets, I'm pretty sure he would be willing to do it in one way or another. They did it before, they certainly can make it work again somehow. Like Liam said, there's always timey-wimey explanations they could throw on us and I'm more than willing to accept them without questions if it means we get more David Tennant as the Doctor xD

there were elements of "don't think" in Time Heist with the Teller as well, which if I had a penny for every Doctor Who episode where the concept of "don't think" resulted in grotesque body horror elements, I'd have two pennies - which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

What a wild episode, most bizarrely un-Doctor Who ish episode since the likes of Midnight and Flatline. I’m not ready for next week though, not ready for it at all! I barely survived emotionally thirteen years ago when he regenerated, I was 11 years old, I had known him for half of my life watching him on TV every week, next week might just kill me…or I’ll need serious fandom counselling! 😂🥺😭

Man, what a fantastic episode! Doctor Who is clearly going back to its roots with Russell, even the CGI, even the cheesier CGI made me feel 'at home,' if you know what I mean... The thing I probably love the most about this episode that's outside the episode itself, is the fact that every person gets a different feeling of it. Generally we all have some sort of agreement about whether an episode is good, mid or just bad (again, as a general consensus). And that's not the case with this one. I really enjoy the controversial ones, the ones that get to divide people, some will love it, some will hate it, some won't know what to think of it, some will get confused, some will get disappointed, some will think is a mastepiece. You get the idea. I'm on the first group, I bloody loved this episode, it got me on the edge of my seat the entire time, my jaw on the floor, I gasped, I screamed, I laughed out loud, I cried, I panicked, I suffered, I doubted, I felt all fussy and warm inside, I hated, I liked, I wondered, I mean... It was a rollercoaster. Certainly I have to rewatch it a couple of times and let it cool for some time so I can really get my hype down and try to be more objective. But I honestly think this episode is on the same level of mindfuckery as Midnight, Heaven Sent and even The Waters of Mars. I'm so glad RTD is back on the driving seat, this feels like proper Doctor Who and I know these 3 episodes are meant to be a reminiscence of the old 1-4 seasons era, but I'm completely possitive that he will do wonders with the next season and explore new territories with Ncuti. I can't wait to see it, but at the same time, I'm not ready to say goodbye to Fourteen. He's grown on me so much, I think I like him even more than Ten, which is and always was my favorite. If anything, he feels like the mature, more emotional, more opened and humble version of Ten, and I can't just let him go again...

There are those upset at the episode because of the actor playing Isaac Newton. I knew that would trigger them. This was reminiscent of Event Horizon, the Midnight episode, Red Dwarf Legion episode and The Thing. Great acting. 14 is more menacing than 12.

Regarding the Master coming back with a Doctor's face, many years ago Tom Baker suggested he could appear as the Master. He said it would be fun if the villain found a way to regenerate with a familiar face to make himself more disturbing to the hero.

This was a great episode, but now I don't want to see David Tennant go, but I know he has to, and at least we got this to watch. Something I was hoping they'd do was give his 14th Doctor some time off screen, meaning we would find out at some point that this Doctor had been traveling for a few hundred years since regenerating from the 13th Doctor. The 10th Doctor (David Tennant) had just a few years (from 903 to 907 years I think) while Matt Smith's Doctor had much longer (from 907 to 2,000 years). The Doctor just regenerated, and they are about to do it again after a couple of days, it almost feels like a waist of a regeneration. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see David Tennant back in the role for these specials, I just would have liked if (in universe) his new version of the Doctor had more time traveling. But overall, I am happy to see David Tennant back in the role (as I just said) and I am looking forward to Ncuti Gatwa's performance.

I think it would be cool to see a former Doctor come back as the Master, specifically David Tennant and/or Matt Smith for me personally (maybe Matt Smith more so given how much David Tennant we just got), and perhaps for the 70th special. If that happened, I would love to see an emotional moment of the Doctor talking to someone (perhaps yelling at the Master) about him using (stealing) one of his face's, a face that gave people hope and comfort, but now he was using to trick people and invoke fear. But, while that would be cool and interesting, that would also be weird (and maybe uncomfortable) to see a former Doctor star in the role of the Master. But it's something to think about and play with.

This is an episode of suspense. I mean, if you had David Tennant vs David Tennant in the trailers, it would ruin the element of horror wouldn't it? To say nothing happened would be a bit of a stretch. Like I said, people were optimistic about Matt Smith returning or Frobisher coming into Live Action or the Abzorbaloff making his revenge. It was an isolated horror.

@@scaleofperspective6211 More than that. How exactly do you do a trailer without giving any anything when the whole episode is built on three different twists at once? First facing off creatures from the edge of existence who can be you, second that the events of chibnell's run wouldn't be ignored so maybe a better writer can explore the timeless child in a good way as opposed to chibnell's way, and third if the laws of reality are fragile there what else can be there? Stories set in E Space for example back in the old series might be fodder for new seasons. No one has used E space in decades.

This episode was heavily secret, for no reason apart from the fact that if it was teased, people really wouldn’t of been hyped for it. It’s an episode of episodes mashed together resolved by mind power and an explosion. Once the flesh Gangers appeared, It felt too predictable and just reminds me of a S5/S6 episode but with a S13 Budget, always wasted.

  • @LiamCatterson

They weren't Flesh Gangers. The difference was, there was a repore with Eleven and his Ganger for example. There wasn't that here. When Fake14 said he would like to know Shaun more, it wasn't based on bestie intent. Ganger 11 sacrificed himself for example. These creatures wouldn't do that. It's a shame you feel it was a wasted episode because it wasn't. The idea of this episode was not about hype, was not about shoving Eleven as a twist or anything like that. It was an adventure with The Doctor and Donna in a horror situation where they faced creatures trying to be the perfect imposter. But each to their own
