What a fantastic storyteller hiding underneath a lethal six string picker, how can anyone not just love doc
I have the original on the LP Album "Will the circle be unbroken" brought the family up singing it all the way home in the car. So many memories.
I'm originally from Boone, NC which is in Watauga County. Doc Watson grew up in Deep Gap which is in the Eastern part of Watuaga County. I grew up listening to this song myself. His extended family is spread throughout the County and one of them actually used to mow my Mom's yard! We have a very active musical culture in this part of the Blue Ridge mountains and you will frequently find people getting together for almost any occasion and after the meals pulling out their instruments and jamming and singing! Maybe even a little dancing might be going on as well TOO 😜! We know how to have our own kinds of fun for sure!
I have loved this song for almost 40 years. Never listened too much to country western, but this song ( Doc Watson version) captured my attention. I like this Doc Watson version.
One of the best songs I've ever had heard
This is the most American song that has ever been created.
Just a beautiful human being being
