The tentacles are actually truer to the source material. In every adaptation of Doc Ock after Spider-Man 2, his tentacles are more like mechanical snakes with mouths at the end. Which is fine, I'm not criticizing, but here you can see that the arms are spagetti-like and have tiny pinchers at the end. The tentacles rap around the victim and squeeze like mini-pythons. Unlike Spider-Man 2 and Spectacular Spider-Man which grab and hold the victim with the pinchers.

Very true, another nice thing to see

Even with its faults, I can commend the strength of three tentacles. I was able to fix the droopiness by filling the holes with tape and now they're locked in tight. But the tentacles are strong enough to actually hold up a figure over Ock's head. My Ock is posed with two of the tentacles pinning spiderman high up on a wall, and its stayed supported ever since I posed it.

I don't know when it comes out, but I do want that Mary Jane so you can best be sure I'll be reviewing it.

If you put a dab of clear nail polish in the sockets on the backpack and insert the tendrils, it will give a much more snug fit. Using a course surface like carpet or Styrofoam will allow for better grip for the tendril claws so you can use them as a stand.

I have heard some people are wrapping the ends of the tentacles with a bit of tape to make them thicker so they fit more snugly. That might be a better solution than gluing, since gluing is permenant

I want all the spiderman tas stuff but its tough to keep up with with my budget by the time i have money its long gone off the shelf. Have to buy online or off scalpers.

The figures look pretty great though that price for the figures is pretty steep and it being a hasbro pulse can be a turn off in some aspects. I could see some worth for the figures though. Regardless, keep up the splendid work Jason!

This set is a pass for me. I like Ock's aesthetics and new body mold, but there are too many caveats even with just him. The fact that they engineered tentacles that bend, but don't anchor into the figure correctly is weird. The fact that it is exactly opposite of the problem with the comic Ock makes me suspect plans for a different "upgraded" release are already in the works. (Hardly the first time, I know.) I'd pay $52.99 for an Ock with good tentacles and paint, but not a half-a$$ed one that comes with a hitchhiking traffic cone figure that I wouldn't be inclined to use even for fodder. Hard pass

Well, like I said a lot of it does depend on how much you want May. I don't care that she is a traffic cone. She's an old lady, so all I need her to do is stand there, but if all you want is Ock probably better to hold out for a high end one

@@5POAFigureReviews it seems I may have been a little premature. After taking in others’ comments, it appears that the tentacles can stay put. They require a little heat &/or water and will be fully seated once TWO CLICKS are heard/felt. They can still rotate a little too easily, but will stay firmly in the backpack

The tentacles friction is an easy fix for any collector, you just have to fill the holes with paper or cover them and the tentacles pegs with nail polish to make more friction.

I preorder GG and MJ, but not this one, while is a good set, the weird situation with the tentacles was a letdown, and May wasn't really well made.

@@5POAFigureReviews Because for some people the top of mind for May is or Marissa Tomey, or the lady with the umbrella at Maguire trilogy. This one is also too realistic to be the one that you saw on animated series, that's a big issue of some heads nowadays.

I'm very disappointed with this set. Aunt May sucks and is pretty much useless. She might as well have been a statue. As for Ock, I really bought the set for the tentacles and the fact that they aren't actually compatible with the comic Ock like Dwight advertised is very disheartening. Thankfully, the sculpt, especially for the head, make up for it, but it is going to be weird to have all of these comic versions of Spidey characters on my shelf and then animated Doc Ock. Nevertheless, the bendy tentacles and pinless joints do win out in the end.

It's this or the no way home 3 pack....I hate having to choose 😮

Not sure why they led with this one, but based on how detailed the face is, I would not be shocked if we got a reissue with more muted colors for the clothes and a new silver hairdo for the comic version.

I’m using this 2-pack to determine which reviewers I can trust for an honest & intelligent assessment. Unfortunately..You didn’t pass. You clearly showed the major flaws in both figures but still claim you like them & gave a high rating. These figures are garbage. It doesn’t matter if you wanted them, now that they are here & are clearly horribly produced you’re just going to accept them? How sad. Hasbro asks for a high price but gives out a low quality product. Stop accepting & praising trash like this or collectors will seldom if ever get good figures.

One man's trash is another man's treasure, Travis. It is absolutely possible to enjoy something in spite of its flaws (and to also disagree on what constitutes a flaw). For example, one criticism I see a lot is that Aunt Man can't sit down? To be honest, I can't think of any all plastix figures with skirts that can. I've even seen figures with cloth skirts that can't. It's just the limitation of the medium. Either way, no hard feelings. If my style doesn't work for you, there are plenty of other channels out I am sure you'll enjoy.

Yeah, sorry Trav, but one review doesn’t take away an entire creator’s credibility as a reviewer. I, also love this set. I needed may to pose with my MJ, Gwen, and Peter. And it doesn’t work that bad. The Doc Ock I got for the tentacles, and ended up loving the figure. Keeping the body for a custom and with a repaint to the head, wow, does it look good. I understand that you don’t want to customize your figures, and think they should be good from the get-go, and I still think they are. Major flaws like that doesn’t take away from the fact that you can still like a figure. The Marvel Select classic Spidey has a lot of flaws, but still, it’s an amazing figure in my opinion. I’m not defending Hasbro, because alot of stuff they do is very questionable, and a lot of it can be garbage, but not this one, it served it’s purpose, and didn’t do bad doing it.
