We were on holiday at Port Isaac when 2019 series was being filmed. After filming a scene on the beach, Martin Clunes made a fuss of my elderly Border Collie (Jake) and was quite happy to pose for a photo with us. Our dog Jake passed away October 2021. Meeting Martin Clunes is one of our Jake & 'claim to fame' moments. Thank you Martin for an u forgettable memory. x

The fact he was able to convince us that the doc hated these animals when Martin is such an avid animal lover is credit to his acting chops.

Martin is an incredible actor and a beautiful human being. His portrayal of Doc Martin was masterful. He is one of my favourites along with another incredible actor David Jason. 💖😁🌻🇦🇺

Martin is a brilliant actor! His ability to play “Doc Martin” in a deadpan manner to have us laugh uncontrollably is awesome. His episodes with Louisa and James are priceless

I love the way Martin relaxes once the take is completed and then the first thing he does is to make a fuss of the dog. Obviously that’s what he really wanted to do from the start. A wonderful little dog. I don’t think I’d be able to keep my hands off him.

I remember a movie where Martin portrayed a serial killer. It 'bout broke my heart to see him play such a character, but really proves how good an actor he is. 😁 I hope he has many, many productive years ahead of him.

And also "William and Mary" where he played an undertaker looking for love on the internet. Sounds smarmy but it was not at all, I was in tears after every episode. Martin Clunes is an international treasure.

I do not think he would be in favour of Fox hunting. He may have only meant when the Hunters have the Red coats on on horseback and the sound of the bugle horns and the Beagle Dogs making their howling bark that it was a sight to see but I don't think he would ever go on a Fox hunt.

I have 9 series on DVD but have not seen another one appear. Not sure if it is still being filmed in the UK and whether there is a series 10. Love the series and love the two dogs they have had. Sadly one died I think during series 3 but can't recall now.

I read that it took 18 months to produce each season. So, there's been one every 2 yrs. The 10th and final season will be out in the fall of 2022.
