I am starting a full, comprehensive course teaching you the concept of Birrul Walidain (honouring your parents) in great depth. This course will cover what Birrul Walidain is & how it looks practically. It will also answer very common questions such as "What if my parents are bad? What do I do if they prevent me from marrying someone for no good reason?", and more. Sign up to "Your parents, your parents..." on muslimlighthouse.com

My dad passed away last month a week before Ramadan. Growing up he was a strict dad but now I don’t remember anything bad about him at all. He was the best dad anyone could ask for. May Allah truly give him the highest level of Jannah with no reckoning and make me the righteous child of his (along with my younger siblings) who will ask for forgiveness for him and do good deeds on his behalf to be a sadaqah jariya for him till my death. Ameen.

My parents are more dearer to me than all of my friends. Few moments ago, I ignored my parents out of frustration and then I regret this. I entered KZread and first of all found this video. This is a sign of Allah. Every time I do any bad deeds ,I enter KZread and without searching, first of all I find the rulings on that particular sin. This is a sign of Allah's direction for me. I can feel existence of Allah more and more

Indeed i can never repay what my parents did to me ❤ that's why i try to be obedient as much as possible unless Allah comes between their way as well as pray for them always and your biggest responsibility is to save them from the fire of the next life so work towards that.

Brother could you make a video on OCD/Waswasa? Like doubts in prayer, fear of impurities etc.

There are parents who are not interested in children but had children accidentally due to arranged marriage and they feel that children are a burden. Such parents can end up being either unintentionally neglectful or intentionally neglectful, thus they are disengaged from their children or not doing the very basic of necessities of raising children. For example my parents, esp my father turned away after my birth because I was a female and not a son, and he never spoke to me or my older sister during the entire period of our childhood to adulthood. Consequently such parents who did not bother to get to know us will not suddenly have the right tactics nor knowledge to arrange marriages or to release us at the right age with permissions to go and find our partner for marriage. Consequently also, that meant that they never made us feel we had a home to belong to; and that we were never secure (at least psychologically) that we could run to a set of parents for help in the event that we were in danger or in need of help for anything. And they kept us in different people's houses intermittently due to his jobs pursuits internationally etc. This also lead us to feel distant from them. We had to solve all of our own problems without their any help, including that they never helped my older sister with her marriage, which then lead to divorce. So when my father died, I had no prayers to say for him and I never visited his grave. He never fasted or prayed, let alone study Islam via books.

Well what if they made someone's life hell so much so that even past 30 that person has to deal with mental issues?

Take it as your trial, if you were to forgive them just for the sake of allah(swt) then you'll get to see something beautiful. If I'm commenting this then.. Yk, so focus on your deen.

Also letting it go and getting closer with allah while taking care of them just for allah(az)... The harder it is = the greater the reward, it was indeed rough times but I hope you'll be able to make it out insha'allah
